Brekke definitely looks interested in the variety and high quality of what she sees here.

And the smells are lush and lively

A big man with big hands ,who were he kithain might make folks wonder if a boggan troll hybrid were possible, is putting some donuts in a generic seeming box for some customers. He hears a ring of the bell, and smiles "Welcome to the Yeast Also Rises. Help yourself, look about, And let us know if you need anything"

"Thank you. I hope you do not mind the dog? I will hold her, and she is well-trained."

Frank is indeed looking around.

"Got a dog myself. She snitches food you will have to pay for it, but it's fine. Some of my customers have support animals"

"My thanks." She looks at the pastries behind the glass.

Frank notices not just some truly masterful donuts, but braided bread, croissants, pies and cakes

As does Brekke.

"Serinakaker!" she says with some surprise. "I do not often see this in shops here."

There is an artistry in the food. Flavor comes first, and some of it is very old fashioned and simple, but when those goals are reached there are designs and aesthic touches. You shouldn'play with foods yet, there's a joy the maker had in it

"Oh yes , Norwegian Butter Cookies. I had a girl come in and ask for them. I made a few and she snatched them up so I thought I'd keep them up. Was worried they wouldn't sell. "

A smile on the big man's face as the lady he was talking to takes her donut box and goes "I'm Hemmingway, not the one that drinks and writes"

A grin. "Tall girl?" She describes other features of Siv's mortal mein.

"Yes, she was the one. She got some donuts from me earlier, then later made the request for Serinakaker... " He has to slow to say the word right. "Only she pronounced it correctly. Lot of Norweigans around here?" A smile "You're the second person to call them by their rightful name"

"Not many. Mostly family. She is our daughter."

"Fine young lady" He grins

A grin. "Thank you." She returns to looking over the wares. "Your business is doing well?"

"Oh it was rough for the first week, but got a bit of help from a local or two, and I guess word of mouth caught on"

Frank's kenning is distracted by something sold as 'Trucker Muffin mugs' with a free reciepe

"Mm." he nods to himself.

Brekke nods. That sounds as though he already has somebody musing him...or perhaps just financial sponsors.

After some time, she starts to make selections to be boxed up -- some donuts, cookies. a pastry or two.

"Can I get one of these?" Frank indicates a loaf of crusty bread.

"Of course" the man assures "I'm like an animal shelter for bread. I want it to get a good home in someone else's arms and later belly"

Hemmingway wraps and boxes up all that's asked with care 'If it gets any busier I may have to put out a help wanted sign. Which is fine by me, but I worry I can't pay as much as I should in these hard times. "

A grin at the comparison to a shelter.

"Hm. I may know some young people with baking experience who would appreciate a first job. I cannot promise it, but it is possible."

She pays for the purchases (unless Frank insists on paying for the bread).

"Yeah? I would appreciate if you bounced a few my way. If I put something out official I worry I'll get swamped interviewing when I should be baking"

She nods. "I will suggest it to them. If they say that Brekke sent them, that is me."

"I was about to ask" He smiles "And nice to meet your husband to" A look at the rings

"Frank King." he offers his (large) hand.

Hands are shaken, at the touch, Frank can ken the man easier (Roll above diff lowered to success) A dreamer, powerful one. And that will make him a target for ravagers . Looks like more than one person has mused him. Interesting

Products sold and wrapped for both of them, the two trolls see a small crowd of folks coming in to purchase. Now's a good time to go if they don't want to feel claustrophic

And they don't want to prevent the newcomers from feeling well-served by the proprietor. "Thank you, Hemmingway. We will be back."

With their goods and a well-behaved dog in arms, they head out.

Brekke sets Signe down. "Good girl, Signe."

Signe wags, she was good but being carried like a poodle is weird

A look to Frank. "That is a very good shop."

Frank unwraps the bread, tears off a hunk, and then tears that in half, offering Brekke both pieces to choose from.

Brekke takes one and lifts it to him in toast.

(No, it's just bread. They can make toast when they get home.)
