Gerd Returns with a pop and a thump

And has a guest

"Gerd!" Brekke is surprised. She was just about to head out on patrol, but she closes the door again at the sight of the Emissary.

The guest is hideious, but quickly pulls her hoodie down. However she's been here before, Dika Hannah

"hi," Gerd groans from her spot "Pardon, Chief. Mission from Star Bear a success"

"Ah, Dika-Hannah." Brekke nods. "Welcome. It has been some time."

Her brow furrows at the groan. "Something is wrong, Gerd?"

"Nothing I won't walk off with time" Gerd gets up stiffly

She seems to be bruised all over

Brekke frowns. "What happened?" She approaches.

Dika Hannah rises and bows "CHieftain. An honor. I... i hear Sylvi isn't here anymore?"

"Sylvi has gone to college, but that is only an hour away. I suspect that she will return to visit, if she can, upon hearing that you have come to visit."

Brekke is pouring mugs of hot cider from a jug. With one, she uses a spoon to stir a pattern into the liquid, bunking heatherbalm, and this one she sets before Gerd. Does Dika-Hannah seem similarly bruised?

LIghtly, gerd took the worst of it

Gerd says "We had a scuffle with some unpleasant Wichtels. Strong little bastards"

Then the cider for Dika-Hannah is not similarly doctored.

Her eyes widen. "Wichtels? Near Starbear?"

"Yeah, you know, the vengeful kith? Nocker kin I guess, good miners"

Dika Hannah says "They tried to do some digging in a sacred grave yeard of my people when they thought none were around. Gerd stopped them"

"I wasn't alone in that"

She nods, then tells Gerd, "Drink." A thought. "Any idea what they were looking for?"

"I know exactly what they were looking for" Gerd drinks as ordered, her wounds healing "Dika has it now"

Dika-Hannah nods

Curious. "Yes? Is it something I may see?"

Dikha Hanna pulls something out and unwraps it

"Soapstone," Brekke says, and she eyes the carving appreciatively, and kenns it.

"Seems weell preserved for soapstone" Dika says

Indeed, magic is in it, holding it together but more

Something about the mother daughter symbolism

"May I?" Brekke reaches a hand.

"You can touch it if you like" Dikha Hanna nods and offers it up

She takes the carving carefully, turning it to see all sides.

Not the most ornate carving, but there's a lot of love in it.

As she holds it, she can see a reflection play along the surface

She peers more closely at the reflection.

Siv! She can see siv, which is odd because Siv does not tattletale well, or at all! Yet there is Siv, working on a boat at the Marina

She can see that Siv is happy to work on the challenge, proud of her work and the good she does. But Brekke can also feel worry for her father, hope her mother is well. the love she has for Jonas and Piper is like a warm fire.

but the key impression is... Healthy, Safe, body, mind, and soul, troubles slight and worry for others, few worries of her own

It is like a peek into her daughter's facets and security of life

And then Jessica's reflection appears... weaker. But proof blood is not all

She is startled...and then torn. After a moment, she offers it back to Dika-Hannah with a bit of reluctance.

"It...I could see my daughters."

"Oh" Dika Hannah smiles

And takes it back "Meant for a mother to check on her daughters? yes, I could see such magic being sought"
