"Good, footwork is important, you'll be facing bigger and stronger foes, you cost them their balance, you can cost them full use of it" Siv is saying

Piper sits on the sideline, she doesn't actually have popcorn, but she practically does. "You've got this, Kassidy! Show her that us little chicks can pull one over on a giant now and again!" Blowing a kiss to Siv even as she cheers her downfall.

Siv flashes a grin at her. At that moment of distraction, Kassidy stabs and gets a light tap on her mentor

"Woooo!"

"You little sneak" Siv says "That is EXACTLY what you need to do if you're fighting for your life. Well done. "

"It's not dishonorable?" Kass asks worriedly but pleased

"Who cares about honor when your life is on the line? Apologize later if you have to, but keep breathing!"

Piper has her own opinions, perhaps

"I would say if I do not respect you as a foe enough to keep my focus on your blade, it could be said it is I who showed a lack of honor" Siv says "Or not, Honor's code is up for much debate, it is worth pursuing, but wary of letting others set the rules of what YOUR Code should be, for it will often be to their own dishonorable advantage"

The Squire looks at both women, then nods "En Guarde?"

Siv smiles and ressumes the position and they duel again "So, Squire, did you have fun with your friends?"

"Yes, my knight. Connor liked a cadence i made for skipping rope" She smiles then says with a more worried look as they practice "I don't think he understands his knight's going to college, you know like you said?"

Siv calls a pause "You didn't tell him, did you?"

"I TRIED to..." the squire says confused "Shouldn't he know?"

Frank exits the back of the Lodge, heading casually towards the sparring area.

Piper glances over as the sun is momentarily blotted out by another giant entering the scene, and waves to Frank.

Siv says "He likely should, but take it from me, sometimes folks do not appreciate it when you interject yourself." Thinking of her sister "And yes, I still do, but you have to be careful. You can cause pain where you meant aid. " A Sigh "I could tell you stories. Let Dame Dagmar do it, if she takes too long, no doubt Kerri will put a bug in her ear about it"

"Yes, my knight" T he little girl says, then sees Frank and waves "Sir Frank, I got a tap in on the Lady Captain!"

Frank lifts a hand to acknowledge Piper's greeting.

"Good work." He rumbles to the little Liam.

Piper snickers. SHE gets to tap that whenever she wants...

"That she did, she's getting quicker" SIv nods

Kassidy beams at the praise and says "Thank you" to both

Siv gives Piper a look of wry amusement, as if she read the thought

"Sir Frank, what's with all the new blue faces?"

"I just got home and found about about them." Frank admits "Only now meeting them."

"Squire Valter is partly our doing, Piper" A reminder from Siv

"Well, yeah, I haven't forgotten about him, obvs! " Piper rolls her eyes in amusement. "But he's kinda... green, you know? These new faces have a cornfed look about them. They remind me of Spencer, and Kelby."

"Oh, the DeBuke 3" She nods "AYe"

"Though I don't recognize the older lady and the guy who keeps grinning like he was just told a joke. It's almost creepy. Reminds me of how Rikki looks when she's plotting."

"Oh, Happy..yeah, he and Eir Frey are from Texas" Siv says "Gerd invited them to ..well, see if they liked the place? " A look to her father "Da, you patrolled with Happy right?"

"I did."

"Didn't mean to stop your practice, though. We can talk later." it's an offer, not a request or command.

"Oh it's okay, we were taking a break" Siv assures "Or we can talk while we spare. What do you think of Happy and EirFrey?"

"I haven't spend much time with Happy, and next to none with EirFrey." Frank reminds her "I was impressed with Happpy's ability to Kenn, and his quick thinking."

"Quick thinking? THat's a good sign" Siv nods, then looks at Piper "I do see what you mean, it's so odd to see a troll openly happy all the time. He makes me look stoic"

"Right? It's like seeing a depressed Pooka."

She grins.

"Oh you should have seen Eden back in the day" Siv says "She was a sad little snake person"

"Oh, now that sounds sad. Is she better these days? I don't see her around Goldfinch."

"Oh she and Tikki are still an item and quite happy. YOu know him , RIkki's brother , who is on patrol, lives like he's a kung fu student seeking enlightenment?"

Rikki has mentioned 'The square' before. Mongoose pooka

"Rikki made it sound like he's the most boring pooka in the world... which, I have to admit, I took as a backwards warning to stay away from him." She laughs sheepishly.

"Rikki is going to bite off more than she can chew one day" SIv says "And you're gonna expect us to go to her rescue"

"I wouldn't." Piper protests, then says with a canny grin, "-I- would go to her rescue myself, and you'd come to rescue ME."

"That would SO work" Squire Kassidy blurts

Siv opens her mouth, then crosses her arms "Well, Yes it would. But you'd so make it up to me later scaring me like that" A fuss at PIper in advance

Piper just grins.

Siv's cranky stance can't last at that and she gives her girlfriend a kiss, a modest one so not to upset da, and says "You're a bit of troulbe yourself. How's Etsie settling in as Veep?"

Frank, having checked in with Siv, heads back inside.
