"Well, she said she might like to be a knight like me, one day" flattered

"Of course. By 13, though?"

"Can't coddle her dad, got to have high expectations of the young " Firm nod

"Hmphm."

"To answer your question, then, yes. She has been performing well as far as I have seen."

"Good" She nods satisfied "Thank you"

"Your welcome, Siv."

"Now, shall we go in and get snacks and drinks for ourselves?"

"I'd like that, yes."

And in they go, Kassidy is waiting with two cups of coffee for them

"Thank you, Kassidy."

"Well done, Squire" Siv nods

"You're welcome, and thank you, knights" She says then says "Home made donuts await, glaaaaazed"

"Mm. That sound delicious, Kassidy, thank you."

"Don't eat too many " Siv smiles while fetching one for herself with a napkin "Kassidy, I'm very proud on how you built up your speed."

Kassidy glows with pride "Thank you"

Crumbs fall from Oak's mouth

"Mmph." Frank gives Oak a glance, and gets himself a donut.

Lick chops, hide evidence

Kassidy blushes at something. Clearly the dog did not STEAL a donut

Frank lets it go, and enjoys his donut.

The donuts are warm and glazed, and thus extra good

Siv dips hers in her coffee "Okay, these are good."

"Mm. Who made them, Kassidy?"

"Sally Mae." The girl answers

"She's good... I didn't see her in the kitchen" Siv arches a brow

"She went out to give some to Sir Carowyn" the squire says "I think she hopes to snuggle"

Frank nods gravely. "I think you might be right."

"Wilders need snuggling" Siv informs her squire with a nod

"Mmph. Grumps too." Frank murmurs, low.

Siv chuckles and side hugs her dad, she must have heard

Frank eats his donut, which is -kind of- like snuggling.

Indeed. Oak looks up at him and his donut lovingly, dogs need snuggling too

"You had yours." Frank grumbles.

Oak looks contrite and curls up a bit guiltily. He's not wired to resist donut temptation

No one is, really.

"Mmm soon he'll be having a little girl by his side" Siv comments "Later this spring. Father and Daughter teamed up. Poor fellow may not get a lick of sleep"

A soft wag anyway

Siv bends down with her non donut holding hand and gives Oak a scritch

Frank sigh. "I'm here for you, Oak."

Oak wags a great deal at this assurance, the poor sap hasn't a clue the trouble daughters can be yet, despite an ear bite by one

Kassidy beams "A puppy? Can I help with it?"

"Well, that's up to the Chief" Siv says "But I imagine she'd not mind. We'll see."

Kassidy looks excited

Siv whispers to her father "I almost feel guilty for being a cat person"

"Babies of any sort usually require many hands to help."

"Hear that, Squire, no doubt you'll be required now and then" Siv says then adds "The hardest part will NOT be feeding the puppy donuts"

Kassidy blushes "yes, Lady Captain"

"Donuts are not good for canines." Frank says gently.

A soft grumble whine from Oak
