The dogs suddenly grow alert. Edelweiss makes a growl at the kitchen, and they hear Brogan's battle cry

Jess is on her feet and moving; her maul came with her from Fenix and is in her hands.

Jessica kicks the door to swing open and sees Brogan's shield block a monster born of a recipe gone wrong and cantrip botched...

The Demon Turkey Chimera's form tears annd rips , it's dark and white meat ready to sunder from each other as the wound spreads! So wounded is it, that it flies with desperation to escape, hoping to get in the main lodge ..but it must get past Jessica

She stands with the maul ready; this might go a bit like some kind of horrible indoor croquet game....

So, ready, she knows just went to swing her maul... the already wounded nightmare is smashed in mid air, smacks into the ceilinn, and falls to the ground . Brogan stabs it while it's down... "Edwelwiess, Oak! FEAST!"

tthe Dogs shove past Jessica, and tear into the turkey beast thing.

Jess lifts her foot, leaning out of the puppy's way out of long practice. "There you go.... Brogan, what happened?"

"My fault, " A wounded Sally Mae says "I tried o fair fortune the food before we cooked it. I must have botched. It birthed that nightmare." Her hand is bleeding , where a beak nearly snapped a finger off.

"Jeeze, Sally Mae....." Jess grabs a dish towel and wraps it around her hand "Carefully.... Brogan, can you find Kerri?"

As if on cue, Kerri pushes her way in through the kitchen door. "I think there's some deep magic that always makes me forget the cranberries until the last minute. Oh, Jessica! I'm glad you're here, and...." She sees the signs of battle and the dogs gorging themselves, and stops in her tracks.

"What. Happened. Here."

"Sally Mae's hurt."

"Found her" Brogan says

It's not so much a question as a carefully measured attempt not to yell. Loudly.

"Dame Kerri, " Brogan says "There was a .. problem with a turkey and a cantrip."

Jess is applying direct pressure on Sally Mae's hand.

"My fault" Sally Mae winces, her hand shredded but at least she's got all her fingers

A frown...but she simply hands Brogan the bags of cranberries, and goes to Sally Mae. "Let me take over, Jessica," she says quietly, reaching to take SallyMae's hand gently.

"Clean dishcloth, please," she requests of anybody.

"Got it" Gerd hands one over

Jess relinquishes the injured appendage.

And goes to wash her hands.

She carefully rests the hand on the dishcloth and mutters, "With apologies to Van Morrison," before she starts to sing a verse...

Brogan puts the cranberries up

"Yes, " Sally Mae answers "Mmm some Hearthing on my part"

The dogs , well fed, walk over to sniff at her to make sre she's okay
