"Oh, Gwen" Gwen blurts a moment after already introduced "Thank you, I'm sorry I .. I should know about lodges but I . I've been to Dark gate so I know some basics but am I supposed to say a blessing or... lower my spear in a ritual way?"

"Please," Kerri invites. "Help yourself to something to eat. Will you have something to drink? I am about to bring out a pitcher of lemonade, but there is always coffee," she offers.

"Coffe's fine, thank you, Hearth" Gwen says wanting to fit in

The urn and an assortment of mugs (troll-sized and otherwise) are on the table at the side, along with various fixings like cream and sugar.

Dee asks Dagmar 'How are the horses? I mean, how's spark's harnass? "

Kerri nods. "How do you like it, Kennelmaster?"

Frank overhears the conversation and fixes two mugs.

"I'm sure I'll like it just fine?" Hoping she doesn't sound lost as she feels

Kerri looks a little amused. "I mean, cream and sugar, or one or neither?"

Brekke settles in at her seat by the balefire, which glows a vibrant green. It seems to want to show how strong the troll Lodge is.

Lavender coughs "Gwen's never had coffee before"

Gwen shoots Lavender a look ("Snitch")

Both Brekke and Kerri give Gwen a surprised look. Then Kerri grins. "We'll start her slow, then." And she fixes Gwen a mug of coffee with both cream and sugar...enough to compliment but not obscure the rich bitterness of the coffee. "Here you go."

Frank gives Kerri one of the mugs he's poured for just that purpose, and takes the other (black) to Brekke.

Of course, Kerri uses that one.

"Never.. had... coffee?"

And Brekke accepts the offered coffee with a grateful look. She takes a sip, then asks, "Baroness Nadeen mentioned that SilverWolf has been 'hectic' recently, to use her word. All is well?"

"Okay, you are gonna want cream AND sugar, do NOT let the grumps intimidate you here..."

Gwen takes the mug "Thank you," And then nods to Dagmar "No. THe thanes drink it at work but it's not served much at the hold"

Frank stands at Brekke's chair, listening and watching; not at all creepy.

Dagmar certainly takes both, herself.

"I'm on it, Dagmar," Kerri assures her. "I don't want to drive her to twitching the first time around."

"Thanks, Hearth."

Kerri seems amused, and gives Dagmar a wink.

Gwen takes a .. should she gulp? That sounds decisive, but maybe a sip is better to savor? She does whatever Dagmar is doing with her coffee and does it with hers when it comes to gulping, sipping or whatever

For her part, Brekke drinks, somewhere between a sip and a gulp.

And Gwen tries that!

HOT.

Not sue-McDonalds hot, but still HOT.

The cream might have cooled it just a touch....

Milky and sweet, accentuating bitterness, not covering or masking, but smoothing, with notes of richness coming through...

But does it appeal?

It certainly kicks tea to the curb as far as flavor punch...

At first there's a bit of bitterness despite the efforts, and it burns a touch... but she keeps drinking and her eyes light up, and bliss seems to fill her gaze

"Right?" A grin.

Kerri nods. Yup, one of us. She glances at Brekke who gives a slight chuckle and takes another drink of hers.

"It's GOOD" SHe blurts "It's great. I.. "A blush "It's wonderful thank you"

"You are very welcome," Kerri says. "It goes well with pastries," she reminds them of the tray.

"Now, you'll be staying three days. We can put you up here at the Lodge itself, or if you would prefer, there is a lake house closer to the water. It is not glamoured in any way, but some find that a pleasant break."

"I might suggest" The satyry says "THat I stay at the lake house, and you get a feel for a real troll lodge here, Gwen"

"If that's okay?" Gwen asks

"Perfectly," Kerri says with a grin. "I'll set a room up upstairs, and Dagmar can show you to the lake house later, Dame. If that's fine with you, Dagmar?"

"Or she could crash on our couch at the Barn?"

"I'm sure Tove won't mind..."

"If you like, I'll crash with you" Lavender smiles "We can talk horses"
