Many come to Rivervale for glamour... but Piper? She doesn't need it. She's got a nice buzz from musing all her own. But she is looking for someone

And in the kitchen, the woman she needs, One Sally Mae

“Knock knock!” She calls even as she opens the door and knocks on it at the same time.

"Come on, Piper, you want me to whip up a mushroom sandwich for you?"

“Just a Sprite if you have one, it’s toasty out there. Thanks though! I’m actually here to see if you have a few minutes to talk shop.”

One cold sprite produced, "Sure, I got time. I'm filling in for the Hearth for a bit, she and her hubby are off having some private time"

A grin. “Good for them. Things have been weird lately around here, judging by what Sylvi and Siv have said. I hope it's nothing bad, she was worried but really cagey about the details. “

"Cagey fits both Sylvi and Siv I'd say. From what I gather, all is okay now. Was some tension but it seems better now." She looks at the satyr "If you're hoping for gossip, nothing I've got is solid"

A smile. “Can’t just to try. But I really came for you, honest. I was hoping I could get some advice off the financial nature on a potential investment.”

A curious look, "I admit, didn't expect that." She gets her self a drink and takes a chair inviting Piper to join her "Go ahead. I've got sometime"

She settles and sips the sprite. “We'll here’s the thing. I found this amazing old recording studio…” giving Sallie May the gist of things.

“I think if I could find a buyer, or even a loan maybe… it would be a great Dreamer resource, and a glamorous place for Fae to work and muse.”

"A great dreamer resource?" She ponders "You said 'old' how old?"

“There’s stuff there from the 30’s I think, really cool retro looking. And it looks like they did some renovations in the 70’s, but it does definitely need work. Ideally restoration, it has charm.”

A sigh, “and I bet that's pricier than knock down and rebuild…”

She offers her phone to Sallie to flip though a few pictures.

“Don’t flip back TOO far or you might get an eyeful” She warns with a big grin.

"That sounds like a money pit, yeah" She frowns "Piper, I don't know the recording business but.." She looks through the pictures "Oh dear.. mm. okay I see why you like it but... " She stops flipping back at the warning "Noted"

She winced at the money pit comment. “But maybe it could work…”

“I mean, how much would a good dreamer be worth? Priceless? A safe spot to muse with guarantee of no autumn intrusions?” Hopeful, but uncertain.

“What about the historical angle? Maybe there's a grant or something if it's deemed worth restoring for that reason?”

"If the goal was just profit, I'd say no way, but I see your point about how it might a good place for changelings. Mmm" She bites her lip "Historical sites might be one angle. HOw much money are you wanting to buy it?"

Sally mae flips bacik through thos pictures as she asks, she does look impressed at it

“To be honest? I have no clue. The extent of my financial savings is I have enough in my account to cover my third of the rent. I’ve never even thought of anything like this before. Honestly maybe I'm out of my depth…”

“But I thought maybe.. it might be something Cesar Carolos might be interested in dipping his hoof into.”

Sally Mae looks a bit unsure about something, but.. she considers it "This might be up his alley way, and I confess.. that makes me feel a bit competitive. Tell you what, if you like, I'll call the owners and make inquiries... that should slow down their selling it, and I think I can put down 10,000 dollars as a part of the investment. Obviously that's not enough, but it might be enough to have them leave it untouched and unbulldozed while we haggle"

Frank might hear this conversation in the kitchen, or he might not

Her eyes widened. “Here I was just looking for advice. Honest, I wasn’t trying to press for an investment like I showed up at the door shilling magazines subscriptions for a basketball team… but you really think it's worth investing in?”

"Monetarily? No." She admits "But to the changeling world? Possibly? It seems important to you. And you're a River valer now. We help each other find our dreams. Not that I want to be miss moneybags for everyone, but you didn't ask, I offered."

“Be straight with me- aside from that $10k, how much do you think I'd need to raise for a deposit in order to this from dream to reality?”

"Okay you have resources that will do it for cheaper than would be normal, but you're still looking at 50000 for a fully equipped renovated or even retrofitted situaiton here"

"I mean you want working recording devices, wires put back in that were ripped here and there for copper. We're not just talking paint job. The insulation, do you want AC restored? What about the dangers of asbestos? I think we're talking 50000 ish"

"Again, that's with cheating ..." She adds "Boggan crews doing things half the price, heatherbalming damage, spring magics here and there.."

She pales and swallows. "That's to renovate... on top of the price to buy the property."

"What property?" Kerri says as she opens the back door, lugging several very full shopping bags.

"oh, Hi Kerri. "

Piper startles a bit - she was focused and surprised by the sudden voice. "Eep! Oh, Hello Mrs. Davids- Hearth Kerri." Pausing halfway through one mode of address to second guess another.

"Sally Mae, I got those herbs you wanted, plus the artichokes."

"Oooh, artichokes."

"Ah thanks , Hearth" She moves to help with those bags

She starts to unpack the bags, setting things out.

"Piper has this property she sees promise in. She was asking my advice"

"Oh? I thought you three had just settled in the apartments, Piper?"

"You planning on some of that dip with spinach?" Belatedly also moving to help once she sees Sallie Mae on the job.

"It's just an idea I had... probably not going to pan out. Resources just might not be there. But I was thinking about it."

"Oh! Not for LIVING. It's for dreaming. That is, it's for dreamERS. A vintage recording studio, it has TONS of promise..."

Brightly-colored boxes of childling-favored cereal get put away in a large cabinet.

"But to buy the property, much less renovate it.... well." She shrugs. "Some things are dreamt to be, other things maybe not. I'm not giving up, but I'm trying to see reality too." Never the less, sounding discouraged.

Kerri stops and looks at the satyr. A pause, and then she resumes unpacking. "Interesting...tell me a bit more about this? It's nearby?"

Sally mae smiles and make sure they will have dip

A nod and a grin as she notes Sally Mae fielding the dip question.

"Got you covered, Piper"
