Kerri looks around sharply, and Brekke is already moving in that direction from the far side of the party.

And there.. on TOP of a railing post, balancing precariously, is SPARK

Dag looks up, and quickly follows.

"Oh... oh hell...."

He somehow got up there...

and as his wings beat again...

it's clear to see how!

"Spark," Brekke says clearly. "Wait there." She slows as she gets closer, so she doesn't spook him.

But he looks at the glorious sky, even as Brekke ttalks

She reaches for his halter, and says over her shoulder to Dagmar, "Ready Star. I think you have a flight ahead of you."

Dag nods, and moves quickly but not too quickly to saddle the mare.

Star is in an alarmed look. One that a lot of parents, even two leggers know too well

But she's saddled while Brekke holds the halter of the young horse

Sylvi, with her own equine experience with the Debukes, gets a little closer and makes soothing, distracting noises at the colt.

"We've got him, lovely." She walks Star out, and activates the treasure.

Sylvi distracts Spark with that noise that makes him look for another horse, whoa.. is there a horse behind Sylvi?

Star looks wondrous as wings burst out of her

Sylvi keeps on with the noises to keep him calm, at least until Dagmar can get close with Star.

"I think it is time for him to try the sky," Brekke says to Dagmar. "You have a long lead I can tie on?"

"Yeah, the lunge rope, I thought?" She offers it out.

"Good," Brekke takes one end with her free hand and clips it onto the halter, leaving Dagmar holding the other end. "Ready? I am releasing him."

"Ready Star?"

Litle winggs .. not so little anymore, flapping eagger to go

Star whinies and nods

Brekke grins as she gets buffetted by the flapping wings. "Yes, yes...fine. Show us what you think you can do." She releases him, and steps back.

And, he leaps,..and for a moment, the crowd gasps as it seems he's about to faceplant on the ground but with an extra flap he prevents that then arcs up... and keeps going up!

"Go spark ggo! " Siv yells

A tap of her heels, and Star is skyborn as well!

Brekke steps back, keeping close watch on the tandem flight.

Star has more experience and looks more graceful than her son, but Spark's joy is tangible, almost aglow with happeinness, he keeps going up and gives a happy whiney!

Frank approaches alongside Brekke, watching the skies as well.

She glances over and gives him a grin before watching them again. "I should have guessed he would find his flight today."

"Not the only one testing his wings."

"Mm?"

the crowds applaud.. and Star circles about witth a proud strut reminscent of his father...

Dagmar laughs as Spark showboats.

Stormwake looks both proud and.. can stallions sweat with paternal concern?

Star annd Dagmar ttake wider circles still, but ready to swoop in

Brekke says, "I suspect he will tire soon, this first flight. But he is doing very, very well."

the Chieftain's words prove prophetic... as the pride and joy aren't enough to keep those wings going constantly... a buffett of a breeze and an overcompensation... then the line's end and ..whooo down he's going

Star starts to dive, whehter Dagmar wants it or not, to rescue her son, when.. the little champ course corrects and flaps twice... setting his angle right!

Dagmar keeps a hand on the rope, alert - but doing okay!
