"I want it to happen, like .. hurry up..and then other times I'm worried the cold.. the banality will furkiing kill me. I .. I like being a changeling. I worry maybe I'm not as glamourous as some and it will get me fast"

"Is it weird? I mean... am I wrong in the head that I worry I'm not as magical as most fae?"

Frank's beard moves a little. "I think you are not weird, no. It -is- scary. -I- was scared."

"You were? But you're furking huge AND a shaman, nothing should scare you" the nnocker snorts

"Fear is not always related to size, or position. I've been afraid plenty. And I was afraid during my Togail."

"Why?" She asks "Did you think you weren't furking special enough to make it trhough? "

Frank considers the question, taking it seriously. "I was afraid of growing old. Like, officially. Of the banality I was going to gain hurting me. I was afraid of doing it wrong, somehow. Disappointing Da'an and the Dreaming."

"But I was here, in the Lodge, with my loved ones when I did it. It worked fine. I made it through."

"I think maybe that's part of what it's for. To make you afraid, to give you.... do you know what a crucible is?"

"SURE, wouldn't be much of a nocker if I didn't know what a cruicble was" She says snapping out of her soft nods that she had been doing when frank described banality getting to him

"I should have known."Frank agrees "I didn't want to assume, is all. So I think a Togail likes to be like a crucible. There are rewards at the end of it.... but you have to go through the fear and other things to get there."

"But..what if I break in the quench?"

"Then you break. And we go back to work. Going through the fear of that and facing it.... that's what I think will keep you from breaking. It's kind of a paradox."

"Yeah..furking weird system" A nod then "I don't want to let Auntie Tiff down she's.. she's a bit crazy but she's been like a big sister to me ya know?"

Frank nods. "Vali is very dear to me, and Tiffany means a great deal to him. Iunderstand."

"Heh. Yeah.. Vali's got all the dad jokes I'll ever need to groan at" She says "He's kind a flitbit, but then you get to know him and it's like sure.. but he's got a furking good hear. Thanks, Mountain. Do I need to pay for my togail? Like.. for services rendered?"

"You should offer a bit of your own Glamour to the Dreaming, via the Balefire." Frank agrees. "It's not a payment as such; you will recieve something appropriate in return. Also, the Chieftess often offers a boon to the one going through their Togail."

"Well, I was wanting to blow some shit up but I think she's protective of mos of the trees here"

"She is." understanding but unapologetic "But blowing things up is not necessarily out of the question. And, after you are a wilder, you might decide on something different."

"Guns and bombs are my thing" she says "I got a bore rifle aquerbus that can nail a snipe at 20 paces"

"That sounds powerful." he observes.

"Well, troll paces so pretty good range" A nod

"Troll paces are pretty big." he agrees.

"May I ask a question?"

"Shure" She shrugs

"What do you think you'll like most about being a wilder?"

"I don't know... " A pause "Actually, I DO know. I furking want to be able to on my own sometime and ...test waht I know without Tiffany holding my hand all the ime. I wanta.. I don't want to NEED folks so much... which makes me feel like drek because they been so darn nice"

His beard moves again. "Sounds like you're ready."

"Yeah?" Oddly reassured

"Absolutely."The Mountain is firm.

"Thanks" She eyes his face, "You know... if you were to like, shave that pet rat on your chin, It might look less hard to read sometimes. Just saying"

"Yes." Frank nods wisely.

"Uhm. .yeah. How can I use my Toigail to be a better person?" It's actually a mumble through out, as if she's deeply embarrassed to ask

Frank chuckles, a low rumble. "Hard to say; it's different for everyone. Going through fear often makes one a better person."

"Furk" she says "I got no blueprints Furk furk furk"

She sighs "Thanks, Mountain" And rises to leave him be "I DO feel better nnow. You don't suck ..err sir"
