"Great" she says "Look Piper and Jonas and I are probably going to be up ALL Night so if w're not back in the morrow don't worry"

"No promises."

"Oh dad" A sigh "One day I'm going to strangle a dragon with my bare hands, drive it back here and tell you how I saved an orphanage and youre going to ask if I remembered to do the speed limit on the way to tell you"

Frank nods. "Probably. Right of Ignorance and all."

"Nargh" his daughter says

While Frank is not petty, he might enjoy the fact he can still sometimes make his daughter at least as half as nuts as his kids make him

Happily, his beard hides any sign of this.

"Anway, you and mom..what are you wearing if you don't insist it be a surprise?"

"Birds."

"Birds?" A stop "Mom and you going as..Kestrels? Perchance?"

He nods.

"That's wonderful" she says "Mom will love it"

"What is it that I will love?" Brekke asks as she enters, back from her long early patrol.

"Dad told me about your costumes..." She says "I think it's wonderful"

Frank gets Brekke a coffee.

A brow at Frank and a hint of a grin. "We thought we would do something a bit more...elaborate...than usual," she explains to Siv. For Caer Falken." A grateful look as Frank brings her the coffee, and a brief touch of hands.

A brief touch exchanged, coffee delivered, Frank meets her eyes.

((Dunno what happened there....))

Brekke takes a sip, then turns to truly appraise Siv's costume. "This is very...dramatic," she states.

"Thanks. " She says "Kind of harliquenesque but no so much that anyone will think I'm the fool for the night"

"No, though be cautious of the Count accusing you of upstaging him." Another sip. "And...how will Piper and Jonas be costumed?"

"Piper's going something Madri gras as well, but more color. " She answers "As for Jonas.. oh we TRIED to tell him body paint and speedos with tassels was enough..." A huff "He put his foot down and said no"

Frank is lavender again.

A brow. "That is probably best."

"Perhaps he could transform to some suitable creature."

Frank considers this.... then colors deeper.

Brekke notes this and nearly chokes on her coffee. "Or...not."

"Well, actually he is going to be impersonating a famous person"

A blink. "Should I ask?"

"Well, Piper and I got into talk about whehter elvis or prince would be more carnival like. He said he'd pick somehting"

"Hm." Brekke considers and nods. "I suppose we shall all see."

Kerri comes downstairs carrying a large cardboard box marked Storage: Sylvi. "Ah, Chieftain, Mountain. Siv, that's quite the costume," she says with a grin.

Frank nods to Kerri.

"Hearth," Brekke nods, glancing up the stairs. "How is that going?"

"Oh, well..." Kerri puts the box down briefly. "Even a room kept clean for most of sixteen years is still going to conceal a lot of surprises. She finally realizes why her father teases her about her shoe collection. Siv, what size are you? You may find a thing or two she's willing to part with."

"Oh I wouldn't want to presume" Siv says "I don't wear just anything" Then a grin "Thanks for the compliment btw"

A bemused look. "Suit yourself, and you're welcome."

"Hearth," Brekke says, "now is not the time, but we should discuss how that room is put to use."

"Well, yes," Kerri says, and clears her throat. "It should probably get a fresh coat of paint before we, ah, decide anything."

Frank nods, agreeing.

Siv frowns "Don't change it too much. Sylvi will want to visit and want to stay there now and then.."

"Well, we'll see..." Kerri says. "Excuse me, I'm going to put this out in the shed." She picks up the box and heads out through the kitchen.

Brekke nods, then looks to Frank.

Siv winces "I Shouldn't have said that huh?"

He nods, more slightly this time, but agreeing.

(Towards Brekke, not Siv)

"No, Siv, I think what you said was acceptable. This is..." Another glance at Frank, then back to Siv. "She is leaving on good terms, but it will not be easy for any of them. This is the way of things. The Hearth must work through it."

Another nod.

"Well, I told Sylvi I was going to miss her a lot, during the sleep over you know? She put on a brave face, thanked me and all" A frown "I guess I sometimes..well, it's just AUnt Kerri is such a rock, you know?"

"Knock knock!" Piper calls as she heads in, wrapped in a long warm coat against the weather.
