(Time warp) Thanksgiving Day, Rivervale...

With Tove and the other kings having their own Thanksgiving... Kerri finds she may not have to cook for AS many...

but that still doesn't mean the work wasn't easy. She got most of the prep work done with Sally mae and Brogan's help

And so when ti's time for the Thanksgiving meal in the main lodge... layers and layers of food are set out

Piper, however, showed up on the porch like a lost duckling. “I brought a bag of coffee, it’s the real fancy stuff...” and offers to help in anything not actually cooking, lest she somehow burn the iced tea.

Piper is welcomed in and put to work if that makes her feel more at home...or asked to play a bit if she's willing?

"The cooking itself is done, but for a few bits of dessert. And thank you very much for this..." the Hearth says as she accepts the coffee offering.

She is willing! And she starts to play with a little grin,

“You can get anything you want, at Alice’s Restaurant...”

Watching the door though, hopefully.

Dating a knight errant may not be unlike marrying a Rover, watching for them to come home...

Kerri chuckles and nods approvingly. "Good choice."

Sylvi is putting the finishing touches on decorations...bright preserved leaves, dried corn cobs, candles...

Tig and Lut come in..with them the two younger troll twins

"Hey, Lut! Hey, Tig!" Sylvi gives them a smile.

You can get anything you want at Alice's restaurant!”_

Still hoping each time the door opens.

"Hello, Hearth" Lut kisses her on the cheek "Need anything heavy lifted?"

Tig kisses the other cheek, "Since when has she ever been shy?"

Kerri graciously accepts the cheek kisses as her due. "You may be part of the bringing-food-out-from-the-kitchen brigade, since you offer. Plenty to carry."

Lucjan &  Lauge. said younger twins chime up "We can help to!"

And Piper.. stares at the door. It's.. she's not here. She said she would be

"Noted," Kerri says to the younger twins. And she catches Piper's longing looks towards the door (they're not exactly subtle).

"The Chieftain is still on patrol, but I'm sure she'll be back soon. Excuse me a moment." She heads back into the kitchen.

"SallyMae, you're sure you'd rather feast with us than at the Farm?" Kerri checks with the DeBuke kinain.

"Oh I'll be doing both" Sally Mae says "But I am spending atl east HALF my thanks giving with Carowyn" Stubborn look "And since they won't let him at the table there.." She leaves the rest unhanging

SPeaking of Carowyn, he enters in also, further teasing Piper

The song is a long one, going on into detail about littering, arresting, and not being chosen to go to war. Still, it has a theme of hope, and she hopes, and watches.

Knowing that the young twins may not have heard it, she sings to share the sentiment.

"Ah, right." Kerri nods, giving SallyMae a rueful grin. "Well, we're happy to have you both. I need to send a quick text."

"Understood"

A knock at the kitchen door

Kerri was about to go out that way, so she's a bit startled when there's a knock. She opens it.

Anne Marie and Myrtlle Anne "Happy Thanks giving" Anne Marie says "Obviously my own family is calling so I just came to drop off Myrtttle Anne..and this Troll sized Mince pie we made"

Myrtle Anne says "We may not be up to your level of cooking, but herbs and spices I can do so the pie is quite tasty. Torin and Jack will be running a bit late. Now Anne Marie is off, but where do you need me?"

"Oh!" Kerri smiles at the unexpected contribution. "That's wonderful, thank you! MyrtleAnne, come in. We're nearly ready, but let me know if your eye catches anything we missed. AnneMarie, will you please tell your family we're thinking of them all here? And I hope you know how very grateful we all are for everything you do for our community."

"Very kind, and I will" Anne Marie says "Thank you for the kind words. As it stands, I'm pretty sure there's a chance Dirk will make the rounds. That boy could suck down a butter ball by himself and then wonder why we were skimping. "

Myrttle Anne Comes on in "Will do but I doubt I'll find a thing wrong with this. Lovely all of it"

And PIPER... the door opens.. and Nadeen comes in.

As the song finishes, she sits up in excitement! And tries not to look visibly disappointed.

“Happy Thanksgiving, Nadeen!” As she figures out an eclectic Thanksgiving Playlist.

"Dirk is absolutely welcome if he wishes!" After AnneMarie heads off, Kerri sets the massive mince pie down, then steps outside to send a text.

Nadeen says "Piper? Surprised you're here. Thought you'd be with the Wayburtons"

TXT (to Siv): There's a certain musician here who is casting hopeful eyes at the door. If you don't show up soon, she's likely to waste away from pining.

Sylvi makes sure to ask MyrtleAnn if she'd like something to drink.

Myrttle Anne smiles "By the end of the day, more than a little. Jack's a handful. But for now, Coffee is fine. How are you, Sylvi? "

And she glances over as Nadeen arrives. "Hey." A grin and a wave, but...maybe a little awkward?

“Oh, I’ll stop by, I would be a fool to skip out on Kerri’s pie though...”

"Oh, me? I'm good, thanks. Everything going well for you?"

Nadeen says "yes. the same I suppose" Having adoptive parents of her own

The pie is available but she hasn’t made a move.

“And thought I could share a little music- taking requests. Thanksgiving only really has so many songs...”

Myrttle Anne says "What? I end up sucked into this town by Anne Marie, now I'm living with a man and have a son in all but name... oh just another year in the life right? No I'm good. Online herb sales are solid. I get to garden. Torin's even teaching me how to play music"

"That's great!" Sylvi says to Myrttle Anne. Then, "Piper, good music is good music, regardless."

Myrttle anne glances at Nadeen, then back to Sylvi
