He is scratched and battered, sleeping; he'll survive, he's not badly hurt..... but the wear shows.

Frank most certainly gave better than he got.

Seeing him there makes all things right. This is as it should be. And having a hint of a memory of fighting thallain...knowing that not all of her Samhain was spent in self-centered self-loathing...it helps her return to herself a bit more swiftly than she has in other years.

She touches his shoulder to wake him. "Frank."

He starts, coming awake and going right to combat-ready before he realizes where he is and with who. "Uuggh?"

She keeps her hand on his shoulder to steady him as he startles. She waits a moment to give him a chance to focus, and then says, "Good morning. Samhain is passed."

Frank blinks and scrubs has his face with his palm. "Over?"

A deep breath and a nod. "Over. What do you remember?"

"Mphm." He looks her over first, then checks himself. "Fight?"

"Yes. I remember thallain, I think." She doesn't need to point out that they usually wake injured on the morning after Samhain...and not always from combat.

"Thallain....." he frowns, concentrating "Monsters."

"Yes." She watches him. "We won."

He nods. "Yes. You ok?"

"Yes." Even a bit of a grin. "I am. You?"

He nods. "I think so." he clears his throat.

She nods, watching him a moment more, satisfied that he has returned at least as far as making a complete sentence. "We should get back."

He nods, looking around for his shirt and not finding it. "Hmmph."

Frank stands and offers a hand to Brekke.

She does seem to have her clothing, even if it does require some rearranging. She allows him to help her up, and together they make their way slowly back to the Lodge.

Frank is pleased to find he does not have a limp this morning.'

"I think I remember...you fought well."

"Thank you." He reflects, nods. "You did as well."

"I think you are right." A pause. "I feel good." Not a common post-Samhain observation.

"You do?" Some surprise.

"Yes. It is strange."

"It shouldn't be."

"Feeling good, that is. Shouldn't be strange."

"After Samhain...it usually takes longer. It is because we battled, I think. Because of the victory."

He nods. "That makes sense. I'm feeling.... relieved, I suppose."

"Relieved." She considers the word. "Yes."

"Looking forward to a shower, I think."

"Yes. I am also hungry," she admits. "I do not think I ate yesterday."

"Mm. You neglect to eat, sometimes." without judgement "I should have reminded you."

"Any other day, you would have. It is not your fault."

"Hmph."

"Mm." A few more steps. "I am glad you feel relieved."

"Glad it's over." he clarifies "Hope the kids are ok."

There are smells of cooking from the lodge...

Frank slips his hand into Brekke's for the rest of the walk.

When they get back to the lodge, they definitely smell good food.

And.. lingering traces of Pepperjack

"I'm going to shower before I eat." Frank says with some distaste for his state. There are twigs and leaves in his hair.

A puzzled look at the scent of cheese, and some embarrassment at her own rumpled state. "That is a good idea. Perhaps I will join you," she says quietly.

He lifts her hand and kisses it. "I would like that."

they head to their shower. The hot water takes a bit to rally. Apparently a LOT of showers have been had

Good thing they're not in any particular rush.

Indeed not.

When they finish showering off, should they go to the kitchen, they see Squire Brogan! he has a lovely soup, meant to be easy on those with sour stomaches from too much candy. His own candy bucket is nearby.. and on it written 'Brogan's Candy- Some of them are poisonous and only I know which so I don't suggest snitching!'

Brekke raises a brow at the warning. "Inventive." And she gratefully accepts soup along with some bread. "Did you enjoy your Samhain?" she asks Brogan.

Frank takes some as well.
