Olgar groans and sips a beer. Then looks over at the Mountain "Frank. You got your daughters figured out yet?"

"Nope." He looks up from his desk and books. "What now?"

"I've been working on shaping a trod so it leaves from Bergen to near Darkgate," A grumble "Why do I feel like I'm making it MORE likely for my kid to race off and not be here?"

"Because you are." as he looks back to his book.

"So why am I doing this?" Drink of a beer

"You're a father."

Grunt sip

"I suppose . You broke even at least. Siv's definitely hanging around here more than not. Not sure my girl's gonna do the same"

"Not all children do. Kind of the point, right?"

"mmmph. I suppose so" A proud look "She's gonna be amazing wherever she goes." A pause "But she better call and text nwo and then"

Frank nods his shaggy head.

"Oh. Jessica's tour is going well" He says

"Mm?" He looks up.

"Got some news from Rovers in the area. Grand Tour across her county. Apparently she's a hit. "

Frank thinks about this, his attention inward. "Smart."

"And there was a bit of trouble with ranters... but she handled it with help" A sip

"Ranters?" NOW Olgar has his attention. "What happened?"

"A beach battle royal where your daughter and that Duff guy and the Baron set an ambush for Ranters who hoped to ambush the childling baroness of that area and maybe the childling countess too. "

Frank sets his reading aside. "Tell me."

"I just did. Frank I'm getting this stuff second hnd from rovers... but apparently your daughter got wind of an assassination attempted and turned it around ..the kidds were tucked away , decoy illusions or something used, and the ranters got bagged. No fatalities on the good guy side"

The Mountain's beard moves. "Good."

A nod "Jessica's got sense"

"She does. God knows how."

"Her mother's side I suspect"

A grin though

Frank gives Olgar a steady look, and not entirely friendly.

"Which one?"

"mmm I tend to think of Brekke cause I know her better" he admits "Adopted or no, there's a resemblence there"

A sip

Frank nods.

"Hmph."

Brow "Should I not tell you news I hear of that area? for your nerves sake?"

"No. May as well pass along what you know."

A grunt nod

Siv bursts into the lodge "Dad? What's going on in the lodge?"

"The lake" she corrects "Waht's going on at the lake?"

Olgar grunts and looks at Frank

Frank is on his feet. "The lake??"

"They tore down that McMansion thing.. you know. . the one that mom would squeeze the handle of Speaker whenever she saw"

"Yes, I heard."

"Well, it's being torn down.. I mean, it is down... torn gone, and they're building something. Do we know what?"

"Yes."

Siv sighs, then looks to Olgar "Uncle Olgar, do you know what's going up at the lakeside?"

Olgar shrugs "I would guess some kind of.. building."

Siv's fangs grind and she looks heaven ward

"Count Hemlock purchased the land, for the oversight of Rivervale. It will be a lakehouse."

"Oversight? is that some sort of sign of distrust of mom's rule?" She looks offended at the notion

"The opposite. Rivervale will have oversight of the land, and house."

"There's going to be an entire house with bedrooms and stuff right over there by the lake?" Siv facepalms for some reason
