The crossbow pulls back in a soft click

"HALT!" She booms - a blue knight atop her winged steed!

Star is guided towards the hunter!

Dirk startles, his crossbow firing more uppish "Dammit"

The Blue Swan's dance is interupted, and she takes flight to the other side of the lake

"Dirk! That's not food. How would Chief feel if you killed a rare chimera?"

"I'm a redcap, EVERYTHING is food" He protests "And the feathers would have been awesome for hats! What i can't yule shop early? !"

"I can give you a feather for Anne Marie, but why don't you eat some Nevers? There's lots of them."

"Because eating Nevers upsets the childlings.. I swear, I never get to DO anything around here" A scowl "Sides, GLamour is free.. so someone else will just dream up a Blue Swan right?"

She grunts. "You don't KNOW that."

"I'm calling protection over her, though. And I won't tell the childlings if you go on a Never rampage."

"Fine, but I want that blue feather you say you got..for.. a toothpick" Lie. He probably does want it for Anne Marie

She nods. "Fair enough. I like it a lot, but you drive a hard bargain." A brief rummage, and she offers him the plume.

He takes it "Fine. " He sighs "it didn't even fly away far.. was a time chimera saw me coming they shit themselves and went over the horizon" Sighing he moves off to go , presumably, munch some nevers

"Thanks, Dirk."

Grumbling in the distance.

And.. the Blue Swan is swimming back?

Dagmar lets Star drink from the lake. Calm and still - as non-threatening as two large beings can be.

The Blue Swan closes rather boldly and gets as close as it can be and still be in the water and looks at Dagmar with a tilt to its neck as if checking this troll out

She watches back, head turned to the side to be less aggressive.

The swan twists, turns, and then reaches back as if to clean herself, before pulling another loose feather, and then setting it onto the water for Dagmar to take. The feather floats!

A smile!

"Thank you." She says softly, before crouching to take it - slow movements, nothing to startle.

A very graceful nod

Dagmar's hand takes the feather, it shimmers with the water but somehow does not appear soaked. Guess that's the advantage of a chimerical water fowl feather.

And the Swan swims back a bit, and resumes the dance. This time without a redcap trying to put a bolt through it

It's almost hypnotic, and when it finally ends... Dagmar suddenly feels.. oh she has ideas for her wood and metal crafting!

"Oh..."

Oh yeah she.. did she just get mused?

It would appear so.. her head is bursting with ideas

"Star, let's go home.. I.. I got these ideas, I wanna work on them."

Star takes wing while she still has wings (Much prettier than even swan wings she thinks) And they enjoy the sky on their way back. Though it seems every cloud might inspire, every tree top view might give a hint of what could be.
