"I mean...it feels good now knowing that everything went okay. Mostly."

"Huh." She looks at her speculatively

"What?"

"Just ... you know, you're getting on in years...." A shrug

"Dude..." A look. "You make me sound like my mom."

Gerd laughs then says "Not OLD old.. just.. to that part where youre a wilder with ..something going on. Siv found out she was a Fiona knight. Tove is like the lodge skald not that we have that position, she shares it with her dad. Dagmar has the horses ... but, well, not to be a jerk about it, but what are you wanting to learn about yourself? Who are you hoping to be? We won't eveen talk about Jessica"

Sylvi frowns, looks down at the papers with the school schedule, then sighs and flops on her back in the grass. "I just don't know. I mean, sometimes I totally know, and the other times I know something completely different, and...UGH."

"I'm sorry I just.. " a shrug

"Like...okay, sometimes I think, hey, I could really get into living on the Farm all the time. I mean, there's lots of benefits to that. But then I wonder, what about the make up stuff? I mean, I know it sounds stupid, but I'm good, and I know there's not really much in the way of movies or theater performances, but when there is, I might be able to do really good work with that. Then other times I think about just bouncing around from hold to hold, emissary-ing like crazy. I just don't know."

"Hey I'm not saying drop school and join the circus or something" She says "And it's okay you aren't sure. Like you pointed out, you're not like your mom level old. It's just..."

"See a circus would kind of make sense!"

"For reals?"

Then a blink. "Well...I was joking, but..."

"...maybe?"

"Well, circuses are moving away from animals more and more the de Solie performance stuff" She ponders "What would you do? I mean, performers need make up sure"

"Well, and being a cheerleader, I can do tumbling and stuff. Maybe clowning?" A dubious look.

"I don't know. It's not really calling to me, y'know?"

"Maybe that's why I'm pestering you about it" She admits "I like this witchy stuff, but Witch isn't really like, a profession and some might even argue it's not even a purpose though I might have a friend argue that. You're so.. so damn together that I guess I just assumed you were going to graduate high school and step right into whatever"

"See, if 'whatever' were a profession, I'd probably be okay," she smirks.

"You would totally OWN whatever" A grin

"Not much of a future in cheerleading, really. I mean, I might be too tall to stay on the team, if we even have a team. Nobody's giving a straight answer about what's happening with sports."

"I...I guess I could coach?"

"You are pretty good at directing and... oh wow. " An amused look

"What, wow?"

"You could get a teaching degree and then end up teaching period."

"Oh, sure, and then have those jerks threaten to cut my pay during a pandemic?" A smirk.

"But you're internet Savy, you're a teacher for the future" A grin

"Actually, when you mentioned that before, it got me thinking...we should do something about that. Like, a support-the-teachers campaign or something,"

"Teaching sounds WAY too hard for way too little pay off."

"I mean, you know how kids act in classrooms. Why would ANY sane person take that job?"

A frustrated sigh. "Why can't I just know?"

"Huh.. wait, this.. this isn't a bad idea. Uncle Vali is stressing"

"Why do I have to decide, and maybe decide wrong?"

And a look at her "UNcle Vali is a writer and a teacher. If he quits one to focus on the other, does that make him a loser?"

A deep breath and she sits up. "Noooo, I guess not."

"So...I'll think about it more, really, but...not right now?" Hopeful. "Right now we think about right now, and we do some kind of project to support teachers?"

"Like...like get donations together to make teacher care packages? Kind of a thank you?"

"Sounds good" She says "And you know... maybe this will give you a clue what you do want? But..hell, you're young. You're allowed to think of the now. Enjoy your boyfriend, quest a little, and explain to the grumps how you love them even if they're terminally uncool"

A sidelong look. "I thought I was 'getting on in years.'"

"I'm trying to cut you some slack here, Boomer" She says deadpan

Then breaks into a smile

"BOOMER?! Okay, Absinth-ia." She rolls her eyes, then starts to collect her things. "I'm going to talk to mom about contributions and look up how many teachers are in the school, total. Might be a lot."

"Okay" She says "I'm going to teleport to MY Boyfriend ... oo witchy power" A wink "later" And she rises to go

"Jealous, here. Just saying." A grin and she heads inside. "Enjoy the boy!"

"Let me know if I can help with the teacher thing later.." And Boomer and Absinthia part
