Frank strokes his beard. "Yes. We explained to him that it was a meeting. What he hoped for? I cannot say."

A nod "Well, to answer your question, I think he's where he might best fit, and it surprised me. " A sip "I don't suppose you know Sir Sergei, he's a reclusive man in his way. A varich. He is also in charge of hawks and hounds at Earth Runes"

"I have heard of him. Second or third hand."

"When I took Adam on a tour of the place, well, I knew he had been i nthe Ayie before. He and Zane both...but we went back again, and his eyes lit up. The sight of the falcons, hawks, ravens and owls caused him to shine."

A King eyebrow. "Did it?"

"Metaphorically? Absolutely. He was happy. It's the first thing that wasn't a woman or girl that I saw him light up for," the satyr chuckles "Though I can't throw stones. My point is, he seems to want to learn about Falconry. And he doesn't feel entitled to it, or the like. He's grateful . I spoke to Sir Sergei. Turns out the boy has been of help and Sergei is willing to teach him hawking and the like."

"Mmmmm." Frank considers. "Do you think. Sir Sergei as Adam's mentor?"

"Mmph." Frank stops Bachdion and himself.

"No."

"no?" A brow

"Sir Sergei as ... one Adam works with. In a place and environment. That. Is better for him. For now."

"And, if he adapts. Perhaps something else later?"

"Well, the other idea was he has a part time mentor' of house Fiona... and Sergei on the other side."

A faint movement of Frank's beard. "Do you see Adam as a man of half-measures?"

"I see him as a boy who carries a heavy Da'an but has a lot of promise. " Bachdion answers honestly "But, he's in danger of being like those young men that approach a girl, and gushes about how he just thinks she's gorgeous, the prettiest, the most amazing.. and would she like to go out. And when she shows the slightest bit of hesitation, he declares her a bitch and walks off without even a moment of self reflection. I don't want him to become that, but faking enthusiasm isn't going to help him prevent it"

Frank rises and refreshes his drink. He asks "What would you suggest?"

"Keep our feelers out, but definitely let him take on the falconry training. Assistant Hawker as a title is nothing to laugh at"

"It is not." Frank agrees. "However. There is the practical side of things. Rivervale is willing to support Adam while he is at EarthRunes."

He brings the mead bottle back with him. He pours to Bachdion's glass.

"Very kind" he says

"However, I think we can handle the finacial side if that helps"

"RiverVale will take care of our own. I think Adam is ours. For now."

"I didn't mean offense" He assures

"None taken. But if he needs support, I think RiverVale would like to speak first."

"Unless you want him?" Amused.

Another tot in the satyr's glass.

"still mulling it over. I want the best fit, and ironically, the best fit seems to be a NON Fiona"

Frank seems perplexed. "We wish the best fit for him, as well."

A sip "Of course" he nods "My point is, I don't want to say 'I want him' when I might NOT be who is best for him"

"Well said."

"Who do you see? As Adam's best fit?"

"Possibly Sergei" A sip " NOt sure, but I'm looking into it"

"Varich?"

"Varich" He says "No. I don't think Adam IS Varich. I know he was Wished into Fionahood, but I think Sergei as his instructor in most areas, ando thers handling the Fiona aspects might work. I know you consider it a 'half measure' I disagree. I consider it a holistic approach that suits him better in the long run."

"Not a half measure. Just. A way to meet him where he is."

"Does Sir Sergei know of your thoughts?"

"Exactly, Adam is not like anyone I've ever met before. He's not a sidhe, but he's no longer kinain. "

"He does. He has trained others in hawking before"

"But he is, like you, a bit skeptical of teaching the boy in a foster like way, but he's willing to consider it."

Brekke descends the steps. "Adam has mentioned hawking. You may have something, Sir Bachdion."

Frank looks around to Brekke, stands, and approaches to greet her.

"Ah," he rises and bows, though glass in one hand that holds precisely stable, "Baroness, I hope so. The boy has an interest, and maybe even a passion. He's no satyr, but I find students learn faster when passionate about a subject "

She gives the satyr a respectful nod in return, and reaches to touch Frank's shoulder briefly before moving to join them. "From what I know of Fiona, passion guides the house, regardless of kith."

"One reasons satyrs fit in so well with it." Bachdion seems to agree, "The boy shows Fiona influences already. He is protective of loved ones, though I thought perhaps a trollish aspect to it, does want to leap before he looks, though not to the degree of your daughter at times, and more"

She grins slightly as she settles into a chair with them. "Siv is also unique. That may be the only way in which those two are similar."

Frank exhales, nods.

"Truthfully, I only advised in teaching your daughter, the Baroness was her true mentor, and I have to say it was a wonderful feeling. To see a former student become a teacher?"

He rises and goes to refresh.... or get... drinks.

Brekke ends up with a mug of coffee.

"Mm. It must be similar to watching younger Lodge members move on to greater things." She accepts the coffee from Frank gratefully.
