Sylvi laughs. "I'm hearin' it. So, like, wash-product-scrunch-and-go, got it. And yeah, bangs with curly hair is like a mine field. So, what I'm going to do is get a feel for how much her hair's going to bounce when it's cut..." she says to the camera. "And I gotta remember that when I cut some off, there's that much less weight, so it's going to bounce up even more than I think! Always leave the bangs longer than you think you'll want, and then trim a little more after that. You can always cut off more, but you can't put back what's already gone." She starts trimming a bit, then mutters to Piper, "Well, they can't...."

She hides a giggle behind a hand.

After a bit of clipping and banter, Sylvi says, "I'm kind of surprised you don't go for a pixie cut. You've got the jawline for it."

"And it doesn't help that I have a weird bumpy skull." She confides to the stylist, and the camera. "You know, do you think I could pull it off?" A thoughtful look. She does have a cute, roundish face of the sort that would work well for that look, and a petite build - even next to Mortal Sylvi

"Oh, absolutely, girl! That's a way bigger undertaking, though, and...well, bangs are one thing, but you might want a pro for that."

A mischievous grin. "Let's go for it. You're pro enough in my eyes, and you know, hair grows, after all...."

Sylvi's eyes get wide. "Wow. Um. Great power...great responsibility...." A gulp. "You sure?" Even if she does have Spring arts, this is a bit daunting.

"Girl, I've been feeling so shaggy, I've been eyeing the beard trimmers in the bathroom at home... " She makes a gesture at her head. "Bzzzzzzzzz........"

"Don't think I'm not tempted to do that, it would look amaze-balls! BUT...Okay, here we go...."

And there's suddenly a lot more hair hitting the floor. "We gotta make sure to save that. Really powerful bunk material."

She Sneaks a look downwards and looks a little trepidatious for a moment, then gives the camera a grin, and repeats, like a mantra,.. "Hair grows, hair grows..."

"Sylvi, let's do something new and fun. I need a change... feel free to surprise me!"

Sylvi pauses. "Okay...you asked for it..." And she rummages around and does, indeed, plug in a set of hair trimmers which she "revs" a couple of times. RRRrrrrrrrRRRRRRrrrrRRRRRR

And after a little bit (and after her player makes her Dex+Crafts roll), Piper has a haircut that's much like this, only buzzcut up the sides.

Her eyes widen - oh, that will be a funny shot for the video!

A bit asymmetrical ON PURPOSE, "...and with or without product you decide whether you want the curls to be super tight or a bit wavy, right?"

"Right! I can't go naked in the summer..." A small pause and grin at that... "Without product that is, or the humidity gives me a fro. But I love rubbing a little mousse in to give it some spring..."

Her fingers creep up to rub against the shaved undercut. "Oooh..."

And that lovely peachfuzz feel on the side of her head.

"Oh, this feels so... COOL. Like, I can feel the breeze on my neck! "

"Yeah, you're totally going to love that in the summer, but don't forget to sunscreen or you'll get scalp burn." Then to the camera, "Okay, people, I'm not gonna lie, that was SCARY, but I think we did okay. Now I wanna know what YOU think, but just like they said in Toy Story," she leans in close to the camera, "Play. Nice." Then back with a smile. "This is Piper with the Pixie cut, I'm Sylvia with the Styles, don't forget to subscribe to my channel, and we are OUT." A wave, and she hits the stop button.

Piper is running her hands up through the hair, and a little 'o' of surprise on her face when the curls fall short far earlier than she's used to. A GRIN!

And that's the shot the video stops on.

Sylvi laughs. "Okay, that was EXCELLENT! You really like?"

She nods, the shorter curls bobbing around her face enthusiastically! "They say that change comes from within, but a change on the outside sure does make it feel fresh and new!"

Sylvi makes careful work of gathering up all the clippings and cut lengths, slipping them all into a manila folder for her. "Keep 'em locked up, or burn 'em or something."

And a laugh. "Well, cool! Wow, I'm glad that worked. I was SO nervous."

"Burn them?" Her nose wrinkles up at the imagined smell. "Ewwwwwwwww. But I get it, yeah. Maybe I can put 'em in a dumpster or compost heap. I used to throw them into the ocean when I lived nearby, Oh, hey get this - Adam and Zane? They went to MEXICO last night. Did you know there was a trod here that's practically a straight shot to the WEST COAST?"

"Oh! Yeah, the Tijuana trod. Huh...funny, I always think of it as more south than west, but yeah, it's just a hop to California, isn't it? Are you thinking about visiting?"

She frowns a little. "Well, I -was- planning on taking a trip there with Adam, but I'm a bit miffed he went without me, y'know?"

"Like, things were crazy following the whole wizard thing, and I said I needed a little time to myself - but I didn't think he'd go without me like, a day later. You've been with your beau for a while now... tell me, do you think I'm being silly? Be honest now."

"Well...I mean...if you said you needed 'a little time'...I'd figure it would be more than a day. Did you mean, like, break-up 'a little time'? Or more like, need-to-fix-my-hair 'a little time'?"

A deep breath. "I... don't really know? I wasn't sure where the conversation was going... and then it... it kinda sounded like he was encouraging me to break up with him? But, he sounded... sad about it? It was a lot to take in, and I just said to gimme a bit... and then he seemed so happy." A glance over at Sylvi and she tosses up her hands a bit. "And they say GIRLS are hard to understand..."

She runs a hand over her freshly cut hair again, fingers exploring the length.

Sylvi sighs. "I don't really know what the heck to make of him. Thank goodness not all guys are like him. Maybe...maybe he was happy that you didn't want to take him up on breaking up...or maybe he was just faking being happy? It's really hard to say."

She bites at her lip. "I.. we decided not to be exclusive, right? At Beltaine, we figured, maybe see how the night went, and see where it led us? And I was over talking to Lyron - you know him, right? The Carribean-flavored mocha drink? And..." She pinks a little bit. "I guess maybe I wanted to see if Adam looked jealous at all. But he was right over chatting up one lady pooka after another." A sidelong glance at Sylvi, a little trepidation on how she will react. "I know it's not really fair to be... I guess, testing him. But... I hoped he might..." A shrug. "Does that make me a bad person... bad girlfriend?"

Sylvi's brow furrows. "I guess...I guess I thought satyrs didn't get jealous over stuff like that. Not over, like, sex. Over other stuff, yeah, but..." She's puzzled, then sympathetic. "He didn't act the way you wanted him to. I don't remember where I heard it, but...it's supposed to be the most painful thing one person can do to another, is disappoint them." She pauses. "I guess you haven't had a chance to talk to him about it, yet?"

"I realized that I hadn't really made any real girl-friends around here." A small sheepish smile. "And I hate to make the reason why I really came by is that I wanted advice, or someone to talk to... but there it is.."

"Oh! Hey, I just didn't realize you needed or wanted someone to hang with! "

"Welll.. I guess I play a big game as a strong independent woman who don't need no one... but it gets lonesome after a while." She admits.

"I can see that. I mean, I never really thought that was the game you were playing. I just thought you had other people you were hanging out with. I mean, you never seemed, like, aloof or anything. I guess I thought you were enjoying Adam and your family and folks over at the apartment."

"Honestly, I've only met Lyron there, and had a few conversations in passing with the other folk." She admits. "Adam is the person I know the best other than the Wayburtons... and Siv, but she's off being Captain Fiona." A small smile there. "I... don't get be wrong, he's fun to be with, but I... I've started to worry that maybe I am staying with Adam, because I know him... and he's... in a way, really easy to be around. If anything comes up that's an argument, or uncomfortable, it's only a seconds work to distract him. And the distracting is fun. But.. and now this makes me feel a little shitty too... I worry that if we broke up, I'd be cutting a tie with the one person I really got to know around here so far. And... I've been feeling a bit... "

She pauses, trying to find the words. "Like a piece of driftwood, not sure where things are taking me."

"It's not that Adam is shallow and doesn't have anything else to talk about." She adds, "But his interests and mine, outside of chit chat... they run in different paths, and it's FUN spending time with him, but I don't know if it's... lasting?"

"Wellllll...as much as that makes it kind of sound like you're turning to me as a safety net to compensate just in case...." Sylvi gives a skeptical brow...and then relents with a smile. "It's cool. Look, as far as I can tell, you're likable, and I'd totally be good with hanging out more. I bet Dagmar and Nadeen would, too. Hey, you want to come on patrol with me next time I head out? Usually not a lot happens, and it's a good jog."

She laughs a little. "Thank you for just being someone to talk to other than Mr. Ears. That was my stuffed bunny when I was a kid - oh, he's still in a box somewhere, I'm sure. Momma Vera got him for me, so that I'd always have someone to talk to. Nothing special like your Flopsy - he never talked back." A smile. "But it means a lot to have someone listen, you know?"

"And... sure, I'm always up for a bit of fresh air.... now that it's not freezing." Freezing, to Piper, being anything below 50 degrees.

"Well...Flopsy started that way." Sylvi gives the chimera a fond look where he sits grooming his long ears. "He was my stuffed bunny, before my togail to wilder." A slightly guilty, conflicted look for a moment.

"Anyway, yeah, cool. Huh...what time is it now, my time sense is all screwed up...." she hunts for her phone. ((What time do you think?))

"You're lucky to have him." A smile over at the rabbit, and she leans over to glance out the window... (Present time, sure? Early evening?)
