Star leans against Dagmar, resting her head over the Troll's shoulder. Even apples can wait a moment.

A huff of breath that blow her hair about, and words are not needed as Star nuzzles her rider in appreciation of the run.

"Thank you Star, yes."

Symon gets sniffed at lightly. Some of the wolves do like his smell. They kind of want to roll in him.

The sluagh has frozen very, very still as he is sniffed by the huge predators. "Uh. D.. Dagmar."

"That is Longjump and Farhowler..."

"Just don't make any sudden movements."

"You smell like well seasoned carcass, yet you move" Far Howl observes "Amazing."

"Mother mentioned this, he's a SLOOOO aaaahhhhhh" Longjump says "So named because they are said to scare others"

"Th... there's a dead raccoon over on the leeward path. I covered it with brush so beetles would clean the skeleton. You can h-have it.."

A low growl at the wolves from Oak (And of the two leggers, you shall not not bite..else the Dog grow wroth, Cousins)

Far Howler gives a wolfish grin, "Oh you're wise. You know the secret is not to be fastest.. the secret is to know where something slower is and offer that up instead"

Longjump is like "Dead Raccoon? Be back" And off he goes

Both DID back off a bit anyway when the dog warned them

The Winged Wolves do not stay too long, a drink of water, then they go, for they cannot afford to be seen as domesticated.

Of course not. But Star - oh, she gets combed and primped and spoiled.

And Stormwake nuzzles her lovingly, which might make up for his need to prance proudly now and then in circles

Symon finally breaths when they move away, and rejoins Dagmar. "You looked like a Valkyrie up there. Made me glad I don't have anything to be guilty of. To you anyways." A wry grin.

Snort-grin.

Oak hurumphs...and sniffs.. and begins to pee where wolves were. On trees, posts, that lump of grass.

The security markers have to be re - etablished!

He's gonna need some water too after this.

Symon flips through his notes. "I wonder if wolves ever wear armor." He muses. "And on Star, gotta account for the wings... it will be a call between reduced weight vs. protection. You might want flying armor and ground armor."

A shiver as he shakes off the drizzel. "Think Tove will spare some hot water for tea?"

"Always... horses are good, c'mon, let's go tell her all about it..."

A wary glance back after where the wolves went - Star is neck deep in her feedbag already... and Symon gives Oak a tentative pat. "Uh. Good dog." And follows.

Brekke returns from a long patrol later in the evening. The land is remembering itself while much of the mortals' banality is kept contained. A mixed blessing, of course...but she finds it refreshing.

She lingers in the newly-turned gardens a bit, muttering encouragement to the soil and seeds. Not proper cantrips. Just gardener talk.

Star and Stormwake might well still be strutting about the paddock, cocky as a pair of roosters.

Jack Flap tails her from a distance, like trying to learn from a documentary.

And the chief might spot the youngest King jogging down the path from The Barn.

Brekke bids Jack a good evening, but doesn't push conversation beyond that. She's just about to head to the paddock when she spots Dagmar approaching. A curious brow...why is she running?

Well - teenagers. "Oh good! Chief, hi!"

Jack looks at the spots the Chieftain looked, then smiles "There's new green on this one."

"Mm," she nods at Jack's comment. "Do not disturb it too much, yet, but be watchful as it changes the next few days." Then to Dagmar, she says, "You seem in a rush, Dame. Is all well?" A glance past her in the direction of the Barn.

"Oh, sure. Just... okay, so, me and Star raced the wolf cubs this morning, right?"

Jack Flap nods "I will." Despite his boundless energy, there's something about growing green that calms the boy. Makes him happy.

"They're not really cubs anymore, mind you..."

"Ah! I heard something of this contest. How did it go?"

"Star won! But Sky Waltz came first amongst her siblings, which I think was very important for he."

She nods with satisfaction. "A good challenge, then. SkyWaltz is pleased? And Star?"

She doesn't seem to need to ask if Dagmar is pleased.
