A grin. "Takk, kjære datter."

Frank sighs. "Do they have lessons on CDs?"

"And that's about all I know unless I have an English to Norweigan book in front of me to tripple check" A chuckle (Not true ..she knows SOME more)

A chuckle to Frank, and she reaches to give Siv a hug. "You speak well. The accent is good."

"It's a pretty language" She says giving her mom a hug back "And I'm glad it pleases you that I'm trying to learn it. Don't tell Vali, but I like it better than French"

"As do I."

Then to her father, "Da, why don't I see if i can get you and Jessica both a CD or the like to help learn? "

"If either of you is really interested?"

"I know I would like one. Thank you, Siv, that is very thoughtful."

Brekke actually colors slightly as Frank requests the CD.

"Anything for you, Da" Eyes bright

Then she says to her mother "Far passer på fingeren min?"

Brekke gives her a puzzled look. "I...do not know what you meant to ask there. But the answer to the question you asked is no. I think."

"Oh" Blush "Garbled it eh? Darn."

"What did you mean to ask?"

"Does Dad fit on my finger.." A chuckle "Every daughter hopes her dad does a little."

"Hmmph."

A bump against her dad "Du er helten min, pappa."

A slight chuckle. "I see it now. And...." A glance at Frank. "Perhaps he does."

And a smile at the last comment.

"Siv, call your sister. You speak with her first. Then we will put your Father on the phone next."

She rises "Right away" And goes to call

Quietly to Frank, "She called you her hero, then. And she means it."

"Hm. What did you think of her new power of danger-sense?"

"I do not know if it is new. This is the first time she has been far from us for such a long time. It may be the first time we have noticed it."

Siv covers the phone "You want me to tell her this or dad? Just making sure, because otherwise I'm going to spill it now"

Frank grunts agreement with Brekke and rises. "I will speak with her."

A bemused look at Frank, and then a nod to Siv. "Next time, you will tell her when you sense a problem."

And she hands the phone over to her father

Frank crams himself into the phone closet.

.... and speaks with his daughter.

"Mom, I don't know if this is a one time thing or no"

"I mean... you maybe trusting me with a gift I don't have, but yes, I'll let her know if I learn of trouble"

"Well, then do not be frivolous or alarmist about it. You felt strongly enough this time to come see us, and you were right. If this happens again, call your sister. She has a right to know. But you are right, it may not happen again."

"Come, let us try a few more phrases." And Brekke teaches Siv some more Norwegian idioms.

Siv says "Okay. I have some trouble with tenses, but I'm not sure if that's THAT big a change or I'm expecting a change.." And she talks with her mother.. or tries to, in the old tongue.

And Jessica gets the FUN news that her father was poisoned, but he's MUCH better now
