It's late, but he pours himself a cup anyway and takes a seat. Unaware he's been narced on by a willowhisper.

"Good evening, Rover," she says mildly as she moves away from the chest, having returned the banner.

"Hey, Chief" He's got that at ease sort of smile. Interesting, as he has been fighting as many monsters born of dark times as anyone else.

"Hm. You seem pleased."

"I got work, I got a good cup of coffee, I got a daughter I'm proud of, and a warm and willing wife with legs up to here who spoils me now and then and has a mind like a steel trap. Hashtag blessed as the kids say"

"Mm." A nod. "And you must be proud of the work you have done. You have certainly earned your keep."

"I am, taking out the garbage is a chore but darn it, someone's got to do it. " a sip. And no, while he evades gwydions' boon with such talk, the Chieftain knows the ogre troll well by now. It's how she can trust him. He's smug, and for a reason far beyond the garbage.

"That would require someone who is not... poofy."

The near choke he has on his coffee is perhaps (Or perhaps not) gratifying.

"Almost." She retakes her seat. "I am not clear on what debt was owed, that you were able to call one in."

"Let's see, about a year and a half ago, a foal was saved by the wilders aorund here. And there was that huge ass dragon that was, I don't know, a threat to all dreaming kind. Warping and devouring all parts of the Dreaming it flew through, and lastly, yous truly has saved a few Unicorns in the last few years, mostly because my daughter would make big hurt eyes at me if they got hurt on my watch, but the reason doesn't erase the debt. We were due, and if you sseelie types were shy about that little section of your own code... well, happy to break the ice" He does not seem apologetic.

"Hmph," in response to the comment about seelies, but she nods. "You knew where to seek resources. Thank you. They are an important asset in this fight."

"You're welcome, Chief. Can't say I wasn't selfishly motivated mind you but you're welcome" He raises the mug, "Mind you, before this is done one of their herd leaders might announce we're even or perhaps even we owe them now. But I leave that to you diplomatic types to hash out"

"They may well be right, by that time. But it will be a debt well earned." A pause. "Why did you try to keep this from me?"

"I figured eventually you'd find out anyway, you're smart, and the unicorns would eventually get spotted and if by you, maybe questioned? So ..not so much trying to keep it from you. Just feeling smug while it lasted," A sip "Every now and then I worry I've become a bit too lazy in my unofficial duty as unseelie pain in the ass"

A brief chuckle. "I think you perform your role adequately, if that is any consolation."

"It is, thanks." he says "You go and get some sleep, Chief. I'm up for a few hours anyway."

"Mm." A nod. "I will patrol early, and then I must speak with the Professor. Oh, I am asking him to give the childlings and wilders instruction in Concordian history, an hour daily. Please tell Sylvi she is expected to attend, for her role as emissary."

"Oh ho, will do" He says

A nod. "A good night to you, Rover. And thank you." She heads upstairs.

"Welcome' He drinks his coffee, and takes a 'late shift' so to speak. Oh, Sylvi is gonna LOVE this
