A quiet, peaceful moment between them. A familiar moment -- they've had conversations like this often over the years.

"You should sleep."

"You too."

"Mm. Soon." Agreeably. "I may write a letter first."

"Siv will be glad to hear from you." Agreeably.

"You should send her a postcard from your travels. It will please her."

"Then I will. Where?"

"That...is a very good question. Perhaps your host will have a way to send it."

"I will find out from him. No doubt he will read it but..........."

"The nature of postcards. You will be selective in what you say." After a moment. "When do you reach your destination?'

"I...we.... will do what we must."

"I am not. Accustomed. To leading many of this.... kind of group."

"No. What have you learned so far?"

A frustrated puff. "Nothing."

"I mean, about working with them. You have had them as passengers for hours, and none of you has died. This suggests you learned something."

A note of amusement.

"They are a good crew. And I am glad to be part of them." Gently

"Good. I admit, I was concerned that Vali might attempt to enliven the journey with humor."

"He has." grimly.

"Ah. Then I am even more impressed that all have survived this first day."

A gentle tease.

A low rumble. " Humpph"

Suddenly a soft weight against her arm as Connor leans over the armrest, peering at the letter. "A secret code?"

"Aand Connor."

"Brekke, Connor is here."

"Brekke, how is Connor here?"

OOC: I thought Connor was with the Chief? 'her' arm?

His tail wags as his name is mentioned, keen ears picking up from the receiver.

"Ah, Connor."

"Is it Mountain Time in Eastern zone?"

A nod. "Yes, I am speaking with the Mountain. Do you wish to speak briefly with him?"

"No, the phone messes up my ear floofs." He says, reaching hopefully for the receiver.

"Frank, Connor wishes to speak with you. Here he is." And she hands over the phone receiver.

Jack peeks out "Is he okay connor? It's not his ghost right?"

"Hello Connor."

"No, just using the phone."

((Pretty sure Jack's at the Lodge, too.))

He blinks at the ghost comment. "No, he drove his truck. Ghosts have to fly Spirit Airlines." Taking the phone, he suddenly seems shy, holding it to his ear.

Brekke encourages him. "Say hello, Connor, so he will know you are listening."

(Yeah. Jack's at the lodge too, sorry)

"I'm ok....."

"Yup? And Mister and Dame?"

Jack looks at Brekke nervously, one hoof tapping but he nods

"He is well, Jack," she assures the satyr.

"Thanks Chief Shacklebrekker" He says grateful.
