Siv enters Rivervale, "Dad? Mom? I got to tell at least one of you I'm alive in person or you'll get huffy."

The Lodge seems quiet.

Siv sighs, and sits down, and begins to write a note

Possibly last night before she went to the baroness

Dear da and ma, Dagmar, Jaymes, Vali and I have returned safely from our quest, and successfully so. I have to report to the baroness, and begin my boarding at Earth Runes. I love you both very much and will try to call often though I know you are both often busy.

She ponders what else to write, Not sure how often I'll be able to visit but I'll try to do that on weekends when I can. I have Mackerel waiting at ER, and will have some company. The quest itself went well. Mad Max Horse race, pirate foes, and a happy ending for horses we liberated (Don't worry, we found another home for them). Lots of respect to my crew. Dagmar was honorable and bad ass, did RV proud. Vali was pretty cunning and his ice powers are scary. Jaymes? Also had some bad ass moments and his knowledge of Thyle saved us so much time.

PS: Tell Jonas, that if he visits, I'll show him my new eye patch.

She smiles at something there, then rises and looks about, "Last chance?" A breath "Anyone?"

Siv's eyes turn to the balefire, and she saunters over, "Take care of them, won't you? You know how dad and mom can brood."

She does not have her mother's connection to the flame , but she likes to imagine it hears her.

Siv blows a kiss, and a bit of glamour into the fire.

and taking a breath, heads out to go to Earth Runes.

Maybe she'll meet Uncle Olgar on the trods.

And a note lingers on the desk where Chief or Mountain are likely to find it

Frank comes in from patrol, carefully toeing off his boots inside the doorway.

He gets a cup of cocoa.... notices the note and goes to read it.....

The troll grump blanches as he reads, and then swallows hard.

He moves quickly to the door, leaving his coffee behind, only just remembering to grab his shoes and not stopping to put them on.

The Hearth appears to be busy elsewhere.

so into the hold squiggles an opportunist

A pair of eyes, one brown and one blue, watch the little intruder from his spot under an end table. A tentative shift of a fluffy tail. Friend? Small friend?

And the mouse begins to nibble in the pantry

Buddy wags his tail. Surely there is enough to go around. And it's just a LITTLE mouse. Just one little mouse. What could it hurt?

Gerd comes into the kitchen, to do some work. She's actually gotten used to kitchen work.

Then she blinks, "Oh, hi, Brogan."

"Squire Brogan, please," Squire Brogan says looking into the pantry scowling, but not at her.

"We out of nutter butters? Connor loves those"

"No." He says

"Then why the hard stare?" She asks

"I think we have a mouse in the kitchen" He says

"Uhm..eww.. uh.." Gerd squirms

"I'm trying to figure out how to kill it before Dame Dagmar shows up and fights me to the death to defend it" He ponders "Trap, troll/pet safe poison, or what"

"Dagmar won't fight to..." Gerd ponders it over "Okay, she might. Just.. get rid of it. Okay? The kitchen is all yours."

Brogan raises a brow

Then the squire says "Are you...afraid of mice?"

Gerd stiffens "of course not... why would anyone be spooked by those little pellet dropping demons, likely lacing our cereal with biowaste hazards that will lead to illness? or plague?"

"Why indeed," Brogan says

"Just... take care of it..." Gerd says..scootching out of the kitchen

And something tickles her foot from behind!

Gerd jumps pretty high, and that without hopscotch "Crowley's Cryptic Crotch!"

"Not. Crowley." A hiss comes from the floor. "Hack!" That last seems to be more her opinion rather than a hairball, but it sounds a bit like both. As Lovecraft blinks her lambent green eyes, and seems to almost form out of nothingness as Gerd's eyes focus on the shadow within the shadow. "Fish cat is gone. Crawley moves in."
