Brekke visibly relaxes as he clarifies that he's not talking about working with the willworkers, then nods. "It is a worthwhile pursuit. It may make you very powerful." A pause. "You do realize that such power may put you in the position of having to make difficult choices. You will be called on in times of need and crisis."

"That's what Mountain Emmit says. He says an apprentice dreams of the day when he can send rainclouds away, a master can stop it, but understands its best to leave it be"

A serious nod. "And on the topic of weather, I ask that you be very cautious about any workings you do which may impact the environment of the barony."

"Wait, you know about these?" He points to his shoes.

"Sure thing, Chieftain" He says "But I'm not powerful enough to change the weather."

"Yet."

"Yup," He says to Adam "Dude, Rover Olgar was worried you might try to go on a trod, and you'd be unprotected.. well, those will let you walk on a trod like a full blown kithain. You still need to be cautious.. but that means you can visit the farm with me."

Her brow furrows. "Your parents have not...." But then Zane describes the boots, and she blinks, startled. "Those boots...they are from the dragon horde?"

Zane looks at the Chief's words, and smiles "yet. I... I tried to tell dad, but he...he kind of waved it off... satyrs don't do this sort of thing. it's not a real 'passion' " A sigh at that his smile dimmed

"They told me I -couldn't- even get on a trod!"

"I don't know" Zane answers her head ,whipping back and forth

"I know the Rover gave it to him, and I know what it's purpose is."

"Adam, that was my understanding. If the boots can do it, though..."

"See, I figured it out. The silver lining in the soles...it's part of it, the patterns..." He says "When I mentioned it to the mountain, MOuntain Emmit that is, he said that they can use that for their kinian to walk safe." A grin to Adam, "Dude, Rover Olgar got you a boss gift. He just was worried you'd race off right away. "

Adam looks away, held back... but nods. "Yeah. Ok."

"Dude, don't be mad at the Rover. I get why he did it. The dreaming is full of traps and dangers and shit so much even some changlings are shy about getting onto trods"

"He probably wanted to teach you slow. He's busy. I'll give you the crash course" Proud

He shrugs reluctantly but gives Zane a trusting look. "Yeah, cool."

"Zane...if you escort him to the Farm, I have no objection, but I have a warning. Adam, the DeBukes have been in hiding from sidhe nobles for generations. They have only recently communicated with outside holds at all. You are of sidhe blood...and I do not know if you will be welcome there."

Adam frowns in puzzlement. "Sally Mae hooked me up."

A blink. "Hooked you up...?"

"Gave me an in, a .... a....." He shifts. "Well, no, if I'm not welcome I'll ... .uh, stay. But thanks."

"If she did so, then my warning is unnecessary." Though Brekke still looks confused about what exactly an "in" is in this case.

"She told them about him. THey don't blame him for his blood."

"I asked first if he could visit" Zane says not protesting, but with a quiet amount of maturity, "And Chief, sorry I whined to you like that. My folks, they, well, they love me. It's good enough."

"Ah." She nods. "Then yes, Adam, please go with Zane to the Farm, if you wish...but remember the one rule of the Silver -- never step off the Silver path, no matter what lures you away. It is a lie."

"No problem, Chief!"

Zane says "Dude, let's go now. I want to see if I can get another lesson" A look "Pardon us , Chief? If it's okay?"

"I understand, Zane." She seems about to say more, but then simply stands. "Gentlemen, will you excuse me? I must meet with somebody."

A nod. "Of course."

"Uh, yeah. Course. Of course." Adam nods respectfully.

Zane nods, perked up, and takes Adam with him..perhaps even beating the Chief to the door.

Brekke gathers her cloak and heads out. The sounds of Kerri working in the kitchen means that the Lodge is not empty.

Adam waves Zane back. "Let her go, dude."

"Let's get your ass to the footbridge"

Carawyn is at the lodge looking , troubled

"Yeah, he's mine. Dad rescued him after this hurricane thing." The tall girl is subdued.

As is Brekke, as she enters the front door. She nods to him as she hangs up her cloak. "Sir Carawyn."

Etsie nods to Dagmar, "Well, he's a fine animal. I can see a lot of love has been given to him."

"Ah, Chieftain, " He rises to bow

"He's a good cat." And back to silence as they walk.

She nods in response, then heads for the coffee.

"All is well?"

"Did I offend you dear? It's not the silence, per se, but I worry I did. Poor manners on my part. Satyrs can be insensitive without meaning to" She says
