"Dagmar is excited for Imbolc" Sally Mae says

"I'm gonna show some of my carvings, maybe."

"Hey, good idea, show off your crafts" Siv approves, "Your carving is getting really good"

"It's not, like, top notch or anything, But coming along."

"Well, I noticed you're developing your own style" Tove approves.

A smile.

"Oh?" Mrs. Thomas asks

"Well, she learned from myself and the Chieftain on wood carving" Tove explains happily, "And the Chief and I each have our own styles... and Dagmar was doing good emulation at first once she got the basics, but now? She's got her own touches and preferences... that's all her own I'd dare say. She's working on a horse sculpture now"

THAT One isn't finished ,and Dagmar may not have known Tove knew about it

"Oh, that won't be done in time..."

"No, but it was an example. " She smiles

"It's supposed to be Stormwake.."

"I could tell," Tove says "You really do eyes more expressively than I do. I need to work on that"

"Your eyes are great!" Defensively.

"Thank you" She says

"You should show off all of your stuff. And sing, too."

"My money for the carving would be on the Chief this year, she's really been on a roll" Tove says.

Jaymes humphs ("Not that big a roll.. like your art better")

Siv raises a brow, not sure she got that but feeling an urge to go to mom's defense

"Hmph!" ("MY Tove will win.")

"Okay now," Siv says "I feel a need to cheer my mom on now and I'm not sure why seeing as Tove is so gracious"

Sally Mae laughs "Of course we're all gonna have our favorites."

"Well, yeah."

"Why, Spencer is getting so good he might be a surprise winner on the singing competition" Naming her cousin

"Is he coming out?"

"Probably not to be true, my family normally goes to it's own for Imbolc. But I'll be here," Sally Mae says "Not that I sing"

"Neither do I." Shrug.

"I'm told I might have a gift for it thanks to my kith but," Mrs. Thomas asks "Are there poetry readings?"

"Bet there could be?"

"It certainly is traditional, and father read aloud an Edda, rather than singing it ,so I would think certainly" Tove nods.

Sally Mae says "Sure is that way at the farm. Sagas spoken and such."

"Well, I don't know about Saga, but.. mmm" Mrs. Thomas ponders

"Maybe some Greek myths? We got lots of satyrs anymore."

"So Vikings for the trolls and Olympians for the satyrs."

"Go Greeks" Mrs. Thomas says.

"Great, now I'm torn," Mr. Thomas sighs.

"You won't beat Tove, but I'm sure competition will be tight for second."

Tove beams then says "My daughter's my biggest fan"
