Siv smiles back just a bitt.

Siv looks at her mother, not wanting to speak up without an ok

Brekke catches the look from Siv, and nods.

"Woof. Chief, I'll try, but I mean, I'm not sure I'm that good a teacher... you kick my ass."

A slight grin to Dagmar. "Well, we will see what he can do."

"Yes'm."

His smile fades a bit a Brekke's.... promise? Threat? Is she -kidding-?!?!

"What do you think of Dame Dagmar's guidance, Adam?"

A swallow. "She's great. She knows a lot and she's teaching me just about every day."

"I should say," Siv says "That Adam was in that battle with a quicksilver enchantment...that said, for a then untrained staff man, he gave it some solid wallops. I may have endangered him a touch in letting him play through but I wanted to give him an edge. That said, he seems a natural enough athlete and pretty fearless."

Siv gets both eyebrows in response to that...and there's a long pause as Brekke considers this.

"I didn't mind!" He protests "I would have gone in anyway."

Oops. Adam hushes himself.

"Adam, I'm just giving the Chief more details as a witness. "

Eventually a nod. "If, as he says, he was likely to enter the fight, the enchantment was an aid to him. However, Adam, you must realize that, while enchanted, you can be seriously, painfully harmed by chimera."

Dag is quiet, still worrying at her nails.

"That said...I am impressed that you showed courage." A pause. "I understand there was a conflict at school."

Siv moves to Dagmar's side, and rather than an open hug, soft hip check when Adam's eyes are not on her.

"M'Not scared." With a stubborn set to his chin.... that fades. "Yeah. Uh, yes."

"Explain."

"I missed that. Is that why..."

"Sorry."

"Dirk said some stuff. I stood up to him, got sent to the guidance counsellor." A shrug.

Siv raises a brow

"Mm." A pause. "Is there anything else you wish to say about this?"

"No."

"I mean, ma'am."

"...Dirk is also an asshole."

"Yeah, but...." shrug, responding to Sam.

"don't need to be a Gwydion to tell the truth of that one" Siv mutters then speaks up "Shall I go seek Peacemaker Dirk out, Chieftain?"

"Hm." Brekke looks up at Siv, then shakes her head. "I do not want him to think I heard about this from Adam first. I will speak with him later."

Brekke leans back in her chair. "I am told that you have been very angry about limitations put upon you."

Adam looks away. "Doesn't seem fair."

Siv nods to the mention of speaking him later and refills her mom's coffee. She's not Hearth trained, but she can do timing.

A silent jaw-jut.

A nod to Siv at the coffee refill. "How is that?" she asks Adam.

A shrug. "I get that you have to protect these guys first, but it's like you think I'm out to hurt them. M'Not. All this stuff is cool and I want to be part of it."

Brekke raises a brow. "A child may wish to be part of its mother's cooking, but may hurt both itself and her by grabbing a pot handle at the wrong moment."

"Innocent errors can be deadly dangerous, Adam."

Brekke can -see- "I'm not a child!!" Forming on his lips but instead he says. "Yes, ma'am."

Dag seems to have Opinions... but she stays quiet.

A hint of a grin, there, because he did telegraph it so clearly. "And no, you are not a child...but you are a newborn to our world. It may take time, Adam, but if you progress well, you will be part of more." A look to Dagmar. "Dame? You have thoughts to share?"

"I was dangerous, too. Arguably, more dangerous than him."

"You are kithain."

"Not even arguably."

"But he's kinain. He's part of us, too!"

"Arguably...I am well within my rights to keep him enchanted and enslaved here, stolen from his family, never to walk in the mortal world except at my whim and under strong geasa." Said mildly...but Dagmar hears the truth of it.

Adam glowers

She looks at Adam. "Be glad you happened upon this Lodge, Adam, and not a Leanhaun or Balor barony." Still mild, but with a touch of grim.

"A.... what?"
