"Oh! Oh, right. Like, they need feathers and can't fly and stuff. Ok, so... T...Nadeen isn't, like, done yet." A beat. "Me too, I guess?"

"Oh! Right - so, we're...mixed. I'm Sam and Dagmar. Human and fae."

"Wait, ONE soul? What the hell?" He shoves the empty ice cream container away.

"That's what makes us changelings. We have our human soul, and we have the fae one. The fae one.... it has to 'wake up,' right? And then you're a fledge."

"The fae one comes back. So, like, I've been Dagmar lots of times, different lives, but I've only been Sam this once."
