Frank is half-in, half-out, of the Rig's engine. And given he's 9 feet tall.....

Siv bites her lip, and Dagmar can hear her mutter "It is immature to spy on one's parents. It is immature to spy on one's parents"

Frank is likely to hear the familiar crunch of footsteps approaching.

He's working.

"Well... don't want to be too mature yet. Still a wilder, aintcha?"

She stops near the truck. "Frank. I am told you were looking for me."

He pauses, and then extracts himself and clean his hands carefully before turning. "I asked where you were."

A bite on her bottom lip, and a nod to Dagmar...and she gestures at herself.

"Would you be less worried?"

"Ah. I think...Siv must have misunderstood."

She clears her throat awkwardly.

"Nevermind, can't do that cantrip" She sighs and whispers "But something IS going on with them. And I'm not sure it's good."

"Intentionally, perhaps." Discomfort flickers over his features and he takes a step forward. "She is.... like that."

"Why cantrip? Just, you know, walk somewhere closer, out of sight?"

"Because trolls are attentive as hell" Siv says forlornly, "Connor might pull it off, but I'm a woman grown now and while quieter than some trolls, I bet I'm not as quiet as they are attentive.. and then mom will be all 'we are trolls we don't do that' and dad will be all sad head shake... and I'll feel like shit when I just got back to what I thought should be a happy place"

Siv feels a bit glum

She watches him, and nods. "She is." A pause. "Frank..." Then she falls silent again and looks down.

"Yes?" Forlornly.

A deep breath, and she looks up. "I am sorry that I hurt you."

"Hunh. Wanna fight? At least you'd be distracted."

"Or, hey, throw axes? The target's in the shed..."

A pause. "You... what? No. I'm.... I'm .... lost with what I've brought on us. My...." He swallows. "My past actions.... our children are paying for them or repeating them."

"What I want is to is get on the Kestrel and kiss the sky again..fly for a day, come back, and find out they're happy again and somehow my victory means something" Siv says "But axe throwing is.. yeah, burn some energy. I appreciate the offer of a spar but I don't want to hit a loved one right now"

"Fair nuf. C'mon..." She starts off for the shed. "Race you!" And runs!

She blinks and stares at him. Then she shakes her head. "Frank...is...is that what this has been? Both of us guilty about different sins?"

Siv grins and doees give chase. Hard to stay sorry for yourself when someone does a footrace out of the blue

"Sins? The sins are mine, not yours...."

A weary grin as she shakes her head again. "I thought...I thought you could not forgive me for hiding Siv, even from you, while she went through this. For helping her walk into danger...."

He sighs.

Then she refocuses on him and rests a hand on each shoulder. "Frank...our daughters are making this world a better place. You did not summon the Leanhaun or create their house. And Siv...she has hobbled not one, but two of them, limiting their power to harm not just us but those others whom we hold dear and who count on us. Siv would not see this as paying for your past actions, I think. I think she sees it as enabling her ability to be a hero." A slightly wry tilt to her expression.

A soft groan.

(Elswhere, two teenagers play ... siv more accurate ... dagmar burying the axe up darn near to the handle)

Brekke gives him a sympathetic look. "As dangerous as it is...our daughters are brave and bold. They help others, not just themselves. They have learned much of that from you, Frank."

Frank turns away. "Both of us." He mutters.

Her hands on his shoulders do not allow him to turn away. "Yes. Both of us."

Still, he turns his face away. "My fault, Brekke. I'm... I'm so sorry."

A frown. "Frank...is there anything in this that I do not already know? Because the parts I do know? You bear no blame in them."

"Siv has answered for my actions with House Leanhaun.... and Jessica is going down the same road I did. Moving people ... and with the same damn person. Who has, from what we've seen, lost his mind or is on some long con....."

Her expression goes briefly darker, and she nods. "I know. And I dislike that part. If it were not that he were doing it as payment of a debt to me, I would not have suggested it. But Frank...Jessica is moving them out of terror and hardship into better places. And Siv..." A sigh. "Siv is thriving on the glorious battles. She is no victim in this. We must accept it, my heart...we have birthed a pirate. A pirate with a heart of gold, perhaps, but a pirate nonetheless."

He grunts. Dislike but acceptance.

A nod, recognizing the acceptance. "And both of them...they are well-prepared for the lives they are choosing. Frank...you are not hurting them."

"I set this up. All of it."

"You. Did. Not." Brekke's voice is firm. "You and I both have pasts. Everybody has a past. Our pasts become our present, whether we wish it or not. That does not mean that you have 'set up' anything."
