In the Lodge parking lot, Frank uses his cell phone to call the Farmhold.

"Frank King here. Emmit please."

Today he doesn't get the kid, "Frank, what can I do you for?"

"I have a sample I need looked at. Person of interest in our situation here."

"Sounds very CSI... on my way"

Frank stares at the phone a moment, then puts it away. "On the way."

"Emmit?" The Scathatch says "of the DeBukes?"

Frank does not answer but does get out to head to the Rath.

"Don't leave without me, I'm going to check on Tove and Dagmar quick" Jaymes says while they get the scrying done.

Dagmar is by the paddock, standing on the bottom rail of the fence and watching Stormake run.

Brekke stands beside Dagmar. She was also admiring Stormwake, but as Jaymes approaches she turns and nods at him, then sees Frank going to the rath. A frown. "Excuse me." And she goes to follow him.

"Wanting to ride him?" Shrug.

"mm" a nod . He thinks he gets it bbut he then says "Why do you want to ride him?"

She chews on a hangnail, a frown beginning to gather like stormclouds.

Another squeeze on the shoulder "it's okay TO want to. I'm just curious. Either way? Okay"

"I dunno. Stupid reasons."

Mmph (I have doubts they're stupid but I won't press)

"And.. and, I mean, the few times I've ridden... Frank thinks it's memory. Like, another Dagmar rode, which is why sometimes I can remember how to do it right, and not just be clumsy at it..."

"I guess... I guess I feel more.. Dagmar-ish? Like how I feel in a fight. Just... sure of myself, maybe."

"Then stupid ideas, like... you know, like... cheesy shit, like oldey-timey knights and armor and horses..." Her cheeks flush purple.

"Like... going on a quest, maybe? Or..." She trails off and shrugs, hard. (It's stupid.)

headshake (not stupid) "I quested before" grunt (some fond memories) "Don't like you in danger, but that will happen anyway. Sometime, maybe sure. And..." Shrug (Not to be pedantic but) "you are a knight. Better one that does good than sits around expecting bows"
