Growing confidence with the next hoof, though the same earnest concentration.

Her confidence seems to be a good thing in the horse's mind. It starts to go smoother period...dagmar using her strength JUST enough to make a difference but not enough to hurt

Brekke watches with satisfaction as Dagmar develops a steady hand for the work.

Steady and slow and careful - she knows how easily she could hurt the fragile leg.

The horse is patient, though clearly near the end is hoping to move on.

Brush-brush-brush.

"Okay, boy." She pats his flank and lets the last hoof down.

Brekke nods. "Ask him to show you if any still need work."

"Do they all feel okay?"

And down it goes, and Stormwake seems to stamp lightly with each, bobs his head in a horse nod, and then bumps Dagmar in the chest with his head fondly.

A surprised, short laugh. "Okay then."

Brekke even gives a short chuckle. "Good. You can put the tools away."

A bit of a grin sneaks out as Dag takes the tools back to the stable.

Footsteps

"Tomorrow," Brekke says as she returns, "we will trim the hooves. Hm. I need to find a farrier. The DeBukes likely know one."

"They sure do," Siv's voice can be heard, "They have small smithy, I saw it while visiting Aunt Clem"

"There's a lot of farriers on Forged in Fire..."

Brekke looks over and grins. "Siv."

"Siv!"

Then to Dagmar. "That is that television show you watch." Checking.

Siv moves forward to hug them both. She is wearing blue jeans and a new t shirt that hugs her nicely and says 'Tall Glass of Water Served'.

Brekke's smile slips away as she sees that shirt. Then a sigh. "Chieftain Clementine gave you that shirt, did she not?"

"Uh-huh. They make swords!"

"Yeah, how did you know?" SIv says "I JUST Got it"

"Mm." Brekke gives the shirt a disapproving look, but seems resigned to it. "So you were at the Farm just now?"

"Well, yes. I owed Chieftain Clem a thank you for the disguise, though between you and me? I was glad to be rid of it. Also I picked a terrible name... folks kept callinng me "Angry Gin""

"Angry Gin?"

To Dagmar, Siv gives a quicck hug if she can, "They make some pretty cool ones. I hear you held the fort."

Shrug, footscuff. "Thane stuff."

Brekke nods. "Dagmar saved you, also. Do you remember this?"

"A lot of that's a blur... but yes. I remember her riding to our rescue..Vali and I, as I fought on the car of course..and she saved us by JOUSTING with it using a polearm. HOllleeee shit." A cough "Sorry, mother about the language but..seriously, wow." Nudge of appreciation on Dagmar

Grunt, blush, shrug.

"The language is justified."

"S'mostly because before-Dagmar was good at horses. Frank thinks it was remembering, how sometimes I can ride."

"Well, it wasn't before Dagmar who got the guts to leap onto the horse and run down a thunderbird anyway. That was all THIS Dagmar" Siv says

"...it was pretty cool, wasn't it?"

Brekke nods, and looks at Dagmar seriously...and then at Siv. Then a decisive nod. "Dagmar, will you ask your family to come eat with us at the Lodge tonight?"

Blink. Nod. "Sure."

"Oh that'll be nice, get the gang together formal like," Siv smiles "I've missed everyone."

"Good. I wish you to be there, because, after the meal, I intend to ask you what boon you would have me grant. You saved my daughter, and I am in your debt."

Siv blushes but nods "Tis true"

Eye widen, again. "..oh..."

A nod. "Do not answer now. Think on it."

A brief flicker of a gaze, amber eyes landing on Stormwake...

A frown and a nod, looking anywhere BUT the horse.

If Brekke caught that glance, she gives no indication.

"Now...I must patrol."
