Tove looks at him "We'd look out for each other"

"Well, I don't think we should make him if he doesn't want to. That's not stopping you, right?"

She suddenly giggles, then laughs. "Oh, imagine CHIEF as a pooka!"

"Uh.. tove you're not still..." Jaymes says worriedly

"I might" Tove answers, then smiles at her daughter's comment "Now that would be worth some dross"

"Maybe you'll be a satyr, too! We could race! I bet I could outrun Gonzales right now..."

"I bet you could and I'd be happy to be a temproary satyr just like my daughter" Tove says those last two words with real delight

"If you go sluagh Kerri keeps a stash of Symon food." She nods sagely.

"Hadn't thought of that" she says "I never envied their diet"

"There you go, bet it's bland" Jaymes says. Trying to learn the delicate art of wife guiding.

"Have you tried kimchii? It's like farts and fire."

Teenagers!

"I have tried it" She says "And good point."

Jaymes sighs as his work is undone.

A smooch on his cheek. "Dad, you can protect Mom for sure."

"mm" he says with a grunt. But it sounds like he knows he can't stop it. There's a cadence and tone to his grunts

Tove says "Let's go try a cookie?" She offers a hand.

"It'll be fun!" Dag declares, cantering around the couple. Does she ever get tired?

"You try onen, I want to be ready to protect you" He tells Tove firmly.

That he seems set on.

Trolls

Tove sighs, and takes Dagmar's hand instead, "Lead on"

"Sure thing." She takes Tove's hand, and heads out - singing again, one of Tove's herding songs.

And Jaymes follows. They enter into the lodge...

...oh, there's Dagmar's backpack, and a pile of books on the table. Abandoned.

"Oh it's good thing it's Friday night" Jaymes says firmly

"Oh, hey, that means no school tomorrow! Sweet!"

It looks to be empty at least now. Though perhaps others ate cookies and left. Tove sees the cookies, sniffs "Okay that is..scary..smells like my favorite. Part of the magic I bet." She reaches for one "Should I, Dagmar?"

"Do it!" She laughs.

Mumble from Jaymes

ANd Tove pops the cookie in her mouth.

She bounces over and leeeaaannnnsss against Jaymes. "She'll be fine, Dad."

"Oh it's quite tasty" She says closing her eyes, a glow forming about her. She is losing height, and Jaymes, well, it's good he got reassured because he looks a BIT panicky around the eyes for a second.

"See? Glowy, and try kenning - it's brighter even.."

"I..wow"

"Magic!"

"I guess I.." his eyes continue to watch worriedly.

Dagmar missed some of it because she was focused on her dad, but here is Tove... shorter, not as strong, but sleek and attractive, with their large, liquid eyes and a slight webbing between her fingers.

She tilts her head and scratches at the base of a curled horn. "I don't... I don't know this one?"

She looks down at her hands "Oh. I know what i am... a Selkie, a creature of shore..." turning to her husband and daughter she smiles "How do I look?"

"Beautiful!"

"Thank you, oh Jaymes," She moves to her husband and wraps arms about his neck, "You are as tall as a mountain now to me, and yet your shadow warms me. My husband, my love."

Jaymes blushes a bit.. only a little "I think it's just that your'e shorter." Ahem

"You got a cape. I mean, I got a skirt..."

"Voile is funny, if you think about it."

"For Selkie's it's more, the cape is my seal skin that allows me to change form.oh I can be a seal"

"And before you say it, this is an Amazonian War Skirt, for sure."

She laughs at that, "It is."

"Oh, you can shapeshift? You should try it!"
