The satyr is.. well.. she sounds like Dagmar, perhaps a bit lighter and higher in tone. The hair is right...

Hugged, and confused and... "DAGMAR?" A blink "Wait, you..." A smile at something, then a raised brow 'Okay, what strange treasure did you muck with, young lady?"

"Isn't it cool? Zane doesn't think it's a fuddle, there were these cookies... they were delicious, I thought they were yours, but they're MAGIC cookies... Nadeen's a satyr too!"

"Siv is a sidhe and she's beautiful, Mom!"

At that, she breaks out in the brightest smile she's seen. "I should be more worried about these cookies, but you....you're calling me mom?" Tears?

not quite, but her eyes are misting

"...Shouldn't I?" She touches Tove's cheeks.

"I dunno, it seemed silly to be hung up on it. I love you, don't I?"

"You do, and I have known that, but it means a lot to me so I'm glad you can say it. So please, as long as you're willing mom is..." A smile "Mom is great. So.. probably the Baker's work then"

She says THE baker like a title

"OH! The wizard! The little green one! He said someone went to the baker!"

"So the Baker made the magic cookies? You ever hear of something like that? You wanna try one? I mean, I feel fine..."

"I've heard stories, and good thing or I'd be in a panic. I'd love you no matter what, but you make such a fine troll I'd hate the kith to lose you forever. Fortunnately, it is temporary. I forget how long it lasts but I think a day tops and you'll be back tall and strong..." She glances down "Though I am curious if your musical talents are even better. Satyrs always have an edge"

"Oh, maybe? I don't know! I don't usually sing, sort of embarrassed. We could try?"

"Well, the gift of pan might make us a bit silly but no harm... do you have a song you like to sing when no one else is around?"

"Um..."

"Well... you know the one about the frog?"

"Froggy went a courtin?"

"No, no, no - Jeremiah was a bull-frog!" She breaks into song - she's no extraordinary talent, even as a satyr, but she's on-key and enthusiastic.

Indeed, one nice thing about being a satyr ,she really can't mess up badly. Tove laughs and joins in.

Even giving hints on harmonizing.

"Was a good friend of mine!" She swings her hips and moves her arms, getting into it.

"Never understood a single word he said..." Tove says

"But I helped him a-drink his wine!" She is outright dancing now, and delights in the sound of her hooves making rhythm.

The hooves clatter and clack joyfully, and Tove, with quieter feet, joins in.

Dagmar spins about the kitchen with Tove. Joy to the world!

The door to the kitchen opens, and a much recovered Jaymes has come home from work. Music is no stranger to this house thanks to Tove, but the younger voice catches him off guard.

There is, perhaps, a very real risk of Jaymes being hit by the Gift - joyful, loving, celebrant...

He smiles then he takes a deeper look and says "Huh."

Dagmar grins when she sees him, drawing him into the circle. "Joy to the fishies in the deep blue sea, joy to you and me!"

he waits for the song to finish.. then calmly says "What.the.heck?"

"Hey Dad! Magic!" She spins.

"It's temporary" Tove explains quickly "She's... really a satyr, but if the lore I've heard is true, it does not last."

A look of relief, and he nods "mmph. okay"

"Mom said it was a baker guy. There's cookies at the lodge. Nadeen's a satyr too, and Zane's a boggan, and Siv's a sidhe... for what it's worth, I feel fine. Just... oh... energetic?"

"Like I want to do everything I ever wanted to do!"

A nod then, "Are you.. happy?" he says almost cautiously

She nods. "Yeah. I mean, I'm still me. I don't feel like not-me?"

"Well, good. That's important" he says "Just , you know, I don't know how to... not sure what to ... I don't know many satyrs" he says lamely, "But I'm glad you're still you"

She squeezes him in a hug - less bone-cracking than normal, for sure.

"You two want to try? Oh man, wouldn't it be funny if you were a pooka? I bet you'd be.. oh... a bear, or a hawk, or... something brave, that's for sure."

"Ah. Pass" he says.

But he does return the hug.

"Klump didn't even notice."

Tove says "Jaymes, this is magic from the Baker, one of the most powerful namers ever if stories be true. We're talking about someone who even Baba Yaga or Morgan Le Fey tip their hands to."

"Your point?" he says

"We should ..consider it" His wife says

"Might openn our eyes to new views. Would drive those purists in Thyle nuts" she adds wickedly

"Ohhhh..."

"I mean, if it wears off - what's the risk? Is there something you'd really hate being?"
