"So... we hope for the best prepare for the worst?" Zane says

"Not a bad habit." Frank notes.

"maybe wards and ready some bunks for casting out if it proves trouble?" Bix asks

Frank frowns, thinking. "If it were Samhain, I'd agree. But Beltaine.... Yes, of course, forewarned is forearmed but I don't think there should be too much trouble. It's a strongly Seelie time. I'll discuss with the Chieftess, of course."

Bix says "Well on the DeBuke farm, we tend to keep wards up a lot"

Frank nods. "We don't, here. Rivervale is part of Count Hemlock's lands, and we are open to tending to our mortal charges, as well."

"Oh.. well, we have kinian but... " bix says a bit sheepish "I keep forgetting ya'all are nobles about here"

"Not all of us." Dryly.

"And good ones, " Zane says "Trust me, my dad has written lots of papers on reformist adjustment through non-sidhe nobility, and trolls rank very highly on his studies. He took a poll on commoner satisfaction"

"Well, yeah, some of them are un titled" Zane says "HEck, Didn't expect Dagmar to pop out a knight"

Frank nods. "Da'an is... mysterious."

"She's being cool about it, though" Zane says "Not acting snotty or anything. I think the fact she's gwydion is messing Nadeen up a bit"

Bix ponders "Sounds like poor Charles"

"Charles?" Zane asks

"Sir Charles ap Fiona... we took him and his sister in, and bam, poor guy sained with a title and house. We had a vote about whether to kick him out or not for the safety of the farm" Bix says "He got to stay, but we're still cautious roun'' him"

Frank listens.

"Sounds a bit rough" Zane says

"Well, he won't even renounce the house or title so it's mostly on him" Bix shrugs

Zane says "But that's not fair.. I mean.. it's something he earned"

"Yeah well, sidhe nobles are the enemy around our farmhold" Bix says "And he knows that. If he values hsi title and such over us, then trust should be given out a bit less I would think"

Clearly Zane, as a satyr, gets passionate, and if Frank doesn't step in, this could turn into an arguement

"Is he Sidhe, then?"

Frank uses the question to insert a bit of control.

"No, Charles is a troll..." Bix laughs "We wouldn't let a SIDHE noble in. Well, sometimes Scathach came around and we don't automatically shoot to kill or nothing"

Frank nods. "You know... sometimes I wonder that I only met DeBukes recently."

"Well, You and the Chieftain Brekke are okay, sir" Bix says "And Charles isn't bad, just.. he lives with us. You'd think he'd understand."

"I'm not sure it's he who needs to be more understanding" Zane mutters

"Easy, Zane." Gently. Then, to Bix "I think maybe he might. Understand, that is."

"Well, then why doesn't he renounce his house and title? Not like he answers to a lord now or goes to Fiona meetings" Bix says

"Well. I didn't Chrysalize or Sain with a House or title. I stepped up for them, worked to earn them. I can say, they have become part of me, who I am. Somewhere, sometime, his essence, his soul, pledged himself to Fiona, and the responsibility of his rank. It's part of him. Would you want to renounce who you are?"

Bix frowns "I.. " Then a shrug "Somethings you can't change, but that yhou can"

"Have you ever seen an Oathbroken Troll? Other than me."

"You sure?" Zane says "I mean, technically there's nothing keeping me from cutting a finger off, but ..."

Bix shoots Zane a look, then he says to Frank "Yes sir. I have. No strength..had to go on a quest"

Frank nods. "Is that what you want your Sir Charles to do?"

"No but.. he could be rewoven maybe? Or ask to leave the house?" Bix seems less secure about this

Frank nods. "Change who is he, intrinsically, or ask to be released from his Oath?"

Bix mumbles now looking at his shoes "Either maybe kinda"

Zane rolls his eyes "Dude."

Frank nods. "Right." Gently.

Bix looks uncomfortable and seems to have gone quiet

Frank puts a hand on Bix's shoulder. "Take some time to think about it."

"yes, mountain"

"Good man."

"We should get back to changing oil, I reckon uhm. .nice to meet you, Zane" Bix says politely

Zane nods "Okay, cool. Nice to see we got more mountains in training for when the old ones are gone" The satyr might be forgetting the 'old one' is right there

"Standing right here, Zane." He says, not unkindly.

"But yes, we should go finish up. Zane, care to join us?"

"Sure... not great with cars though. I don't actually know how to change oil." He says "is it hard?"

Bix blinks "You don't know how to change oil in a car?"
