"I don't know, sometimes I think Jimmy is hiding something from me" May says worriedly "I heard him and zane talking about some holiday event..they didn't know I was there. I turned a corner and...they acted like I heard wrong"

Lupita says "Look, I don't always know what you see in Jimmy, but he's not the sort to blow you off"

She shrugs. "Could be religious - Zane's Greek, and Greek Easter is late."

"Oh.. yeah, but what about Jimmy? " May says

"I dunno what Jimmy is...."

"Jimmy's nice" May says "but sometimes I get the feeling there is this whole other side to his life I ... " A sigh

"Well, we all have other sides? I mean, I don't know half of what happens at home with you."

"I do know Jimmy likes you lots."

"Oh you guys, you're welcome at my place anytime" May protests

"Well, sure.. but, I mean... you know?"

"I guess" She sighs "I sound like a needy girlfriend don't I?"

"A little. You're just worried because it's new-ish. Relax, you know?"

May nods "probably.. .just, well... yeah..new to dating, new to boys.. really new to a boy who will date me. I mean, if Jimmy loses interest, I'm done"

Lupita scowls at that

A snort.

"You're fourteen. Not done at all."

"And NO guy is the one you hang all your hopes and dreams on for life" Lupita says

"Exactly"

May looks Sheepish "I guess you're right. I'm being Extra, aren't I?"

"Just a little"

"Yeeeeup."

"Or as Jaymes would say... grunt." Eyebrow.

Chuckles all around at that

"Relax.. one day it'll be being 'extra'" Lupita says "I'll need you guys to check me hard"

May grins "Falling for dirk?"

"One date is all we had..." Lupita says "hardly a..well, i'm not goo goo stupid"

"Dirk's... well, he's a jerk but not a total dick?"

"Yeah, he .. he's not as terrible as I thought he would be" Lupita admits "Bit of a weirdo"

"Kind of, but... like, he's been through some shit." A shrug.

"I picked up a bit on that"

"Not my place to talk, but yeah."

"Was he .. I mean, his folks?" May asks

"His mom was a bitch to him.." Lupita says "I'ts no wonder he's a bit messed up"

Sam grunts and shrugs, going quiet.

"Shit, Sorry, Sam" Lupita says "I was talking bout him, not you though I know you didn't have it easy either"

May says "Well, all I know is that Sam is tough enough to keep on... she's got the eye of the tiger, and we're gonna hear her rooooaaar" trying to goof up things to cheer folks up

A snort. "Weirdo." But she grins.

"SOOO old a song" Lupita adds but smiles as she nudges May

And the three go off, joking, and talking about favorite songs
