Bix DeBuke turns out not just to be interested in Mountaining, but Mechanics, so Frank finds one of the class rooms he can use is well, repair vehicles or vehicle parts

"Oil changes. Let's go." Frank is not short, just laconic; a troll greybeard. "There're the supplies. "He indicates for Bix to carry.

"yes, sir" He says without complaInt fetching them right away "Weather's been much nicer ..good day for it"

Frank nods. They walk down to the park parking lot and get set up, ensuring they have everything staged and ready, clean up supplies at hand before they start.

"You change oil before?

"Sure, in tractors and cars" He says "Nothing hurts a car worse than neglecting the basics. Sally Mae forgot once, turned a decent car into a paper weight"

"Did she?"

"Yup." He says "Got a chewing out. She was younger then, big on the pout " He mimics the pout then shrugs "But seems this place has been good for her. Maybe they figure it'll be good for me too. Mountain Emmit says you've got a patience about you a Mountain needs"

"Well that's quite a compliment, coming from Emmit." Frank says modestly. He starts jacking up one of the cars.

Bix lays out the materials in an orderly fashion and assists "Well sir, he wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it. Does make me worry that I might be the sort of student that requires patience" deadpan

"I'd hazard to say that if you aren't, at least occasionally, you're not much of a student."

"Well, thank you for putting it that way " He looks over the vehicle "Nice enough car there. Yourn?"

"No. Siv's. If I need a smaller vehicle than the Rig I generally borrow the jeep."

"More head room, though this will do her" He nods "What kind of jeep? You gotta be careful on some of those 90s models, roll over like."

"1980 Jeep CJ-7. It's the Chieftess's."

"Oh those are solid" He says approvingly as they lift the hood and start to change the oil. He does not fear getting his hands dirty "Sir, if I might ask without being arrogant, is there any particular art you're going to try to teach me? I know MOuntaining is more than the magic, but I am powerful curious"

"Well. What I don't know we can try to find someone for. What do you want to learn?"

"Well I figure a mix'd be good. I mean, folks will want arts for wisdom and knowing, but I also need something more direct to protect my own if it breaks out"

Frank nods. "No reason the Mountain can't be a warrior."

"Right... well, at least good enough not to be a liablity." He smiles

"Never that." He agrees. "Well. I'm competent with Soothsay but not an expert. I have Primal and Wayfare and Legerdemain. And combat skills, some."

"Well, I got to bone up on my soothsay to be sure, that's for the knowing, but which one would you reccomend for..." and that's when someone else rushes up

Zane Wayburton vcan be a blunt young man, but he has proven to be there when needed.

"Hello, Zane..." Frank rumbles.

"Sorry to.. I .. mountain, I could use your help. " Zane says "I mean, I know you're a shaman for the lodge aNd this isn't a troll matter, at least, I don't think it's a troll matter... but... I don't know who else to go to." He says then nods to Bix "Hi."

"Hey" Bix grins big

"That's ok, Zane. I serve Rivervale. What can I do for you?"

"Well, yes sir.. it's about.. a chimera. I mean, if it was just hurt I'd say okay let's get it healed, but it's not just here, but it's acting funny.. like maybe an omen of something? If you'd follow me?"

Frank nods, stowing the oil change stuff quickly. "Bix, come with us."

"Yes sir," Bix wipes his hands and readies to follow.

Zane leads the two trolls towards the play ground... and see a chimerical goat. In it's mouth is a broom, which dog like, it picks up and drops... as it does so, it moves about widdershins in circles. The goat is quite huge, about donkey sized. It's coat is oak brown but it's horns and hooves have a green sheen.

There is something almost ritualistic in what it's doing.

Frank frowns. "Hmphm."

"It's been doing that for over an hour. I counted" The satyr says "And it's solid, like not one of those bubble chimera some dreamer did on a whim"

"Sure is," Bix agrees, then looks at the Mountain "Sir..aint' wwiddershin circles used for opening?"

Frank nods slowly, watching. "Yes."

Frank realizes that the goat is , by some beliefs, a 'beltaine animal', a broom dropping over and over again? the goat is telling folks company will be coming... and yes, the opening of a circle cements that a door is opening or a path being cleared for it. It's not necessarily malice, could be quite good, but they have a guest, possibly an important one coming to Rivervale for Beltaine

Frank pats his pockets, searching. "Hm." He finds a newspaper clipping that has just a faint amount of Glamour in it. A wedding announcement. He steps forward to the chimera and offers it as a snack.

The goat stops with the broom only a moment, and as goats do, munches the paper.

"Thank you for your visit, your vision, and your blessing." He rumbles softly.

The goat munches, then gives out a 'baaaa' and bows. An odd gesture. It has been seen, it has been interpreted correctly, and then thanked. It grabs the broom in it's teeth and trots off to the trods. It's mission done.

Zane gapes as it goes "I am SO very confused."

Frank turns to the boys. "Zane, good catch and good call. That was a Beltaine creature; a communication and a blessing. Company is coming."

Bix smiles "Oh that broom dropping.. I get it now"

Zane says "That's what all that meant? Wow Uhm. okay, clearly I am weak on several subjects. What kind of company?"

He shakes his shaggy head. "Not sure. Beltaine itself is a door opening, a path clearing... but this visit emphasizes the aspect. Hm." He thinks. "Soothsay might provide more insight but it could also be seen as an afront. An insult."
