A grin "Yeah. Gonna start next year. Track tryouts are in March...."

"Track? You didn't strike me as a runner" Nadeen says

"She's not!" Gerd says spilling the beans before Dagmar can "She's gonna HURL things"

A bit purple but she nods. "Shotput and hammer and stuff..."

"Oh you'll be amazing at that" Nadeen says "Though I may see you less. I don't think track gets as many cheerleading support."

"I guess not... "

"But then you didn't win because of us anyway.well, maybe that one big game we helped..got the crowd 's energy right"

"It's nice having you guys there..."

"Thanks. " She ponders "It's..humbling though. I'm a sidhe, supposed to lead, but it's Sylvi who has the way with leading"

Gerd raises a brow "Trolls make great leaders" A bit of a hurumph

"Well, you are still getting used to things. And YOU are A squad."

"My apologies, Gerd. I'm learning that some indeed do" Nadeen says then a look to Dagmar "yes, but if I am not a good leader, or a great warrior, or even a powerful sorceress, what do I contribute?"

"But nobody just is those things, they work at it."

"Maybe" not sold

"Well, like - I'm strong, and can fight, but I'm nowhere near as good as the Storm, Or Lut and Tig, even."

"Well, yes, that's true I mean, you are amazing...not as good as you were before, but you'll get there" Nadeen says

"So, see? We both have work to do so WE get to be in charge."

"Mmm, well, yes, use my logic agaisnt me why don't you" She sips

"Don't you know trolls are devious?"

"We are?" Gerd says then thinks on it' Well, maybe Sylvi"

"So, like - what do you want to do, Nadeen? Me, I want to be a thane here. Maybe a Rover, but.. not right away..."

"What about me?" Sylvi says from the top of the stairs as she heads down. She must have just come out of her room.

"Hey Sylvi!"

"I said you were devious" Gerd says

Nadeen smiles "Something like that. Hello, Sylvi"

"Devious? Since when am I devious?" She frowns as she joins them, Flopsy hopping along in her wake. "Hey," she says in response to the greetings.

"That means, like, clever doesn't it?"

"ALso we were being somewhat tongue in cheek. I suspect" Nadeen says "Please don't be offended."

"It's more like 'sneaky'...." A skeptical look, but she's not genuinely upset. "What's everybody up to?"

"Guarding!"

"Cool. Anything out there?" She goes to look out the window.

"Vali.. uhm Mountain Vali is on patrol" Gerd says

"Yeah, it's pretty quiet."

It is at that point that, looking out the window, that sylvi sees her father with someone else.

Colton!

It looks like her dad went out to get him, maybe taking her advice to 'go near the trods'

"I guess I should...." she starts, then stops mid-sentence and gasps a little.

The two are talking... she can see their mouths moving as they nod and talk but can't tell what they are saying

She turns to look at the other girls, eyes wide. "OMG, do I look okay?" Slight panic.

Nadeen seems to pick up on this "oh my. Boyfriend and father chat and and you're not in it. They could be saying anything" Mischief

"Not. Helping." Sylvi looks out the window, then makes a start for the stairs, then rethinks that and sort of half doubles back....

Gerd looks her over "Your hair looks good in the back" as Sylvi rushes up and then back again "Front's kind of to the left but I don't know if that's what you want?"

"Um. You look like usual?"

"It's kind of what?" Gerd's observations don't seem to be helping. "Okay..." A bit mollified by Dagmar, but not a ton.

She glances out the window again. "They're talking. I...could interrupt them...but...I shouldn't...."

Yes, indeed, the two have hand gestures that denote emotion, but not anger, she doesn't think? And...argh

"I thought Olgar liked Colton okay?"

Nadeen says "Offer me your first born and I'll tell you what my lip reading reveals...the Baba Yaga Bargain"

Sylvi pouts at Nadeen. "Still. Not. Helping."

"Dad likes Colton okay..." but Sylvi sounds uncertain. "I mean...he hasn't always liked him....so I'm kind of hoping this is a good day. But he did suggest having Colton come stay here while we're a few people down. I just didn't know he was coming today."
