The girl seems to wither a bit , shrinking then turns to see the bags "A stone is heavy, and sand is weighty, but a fool's provocation is heavier than both.- Book of Probably deserves 27:3, I mean, yes, Mrs. Uriel." And trudging she goes to attend to it. THe trudge, the weary and resigned yet dignified walk

Kerri turns to get some other things off the shelves near her, trying not to smile.

It is a somewhat comical image to see the skinny girl stagger and sway

While carrying one bag too many

Kerri doesn't dare look more than a glance, or she may feel compelled to make the girl's load lighter. Ooooh, chopped walnuts....

"Eve?" A mother's voice "what are you doing?"

Kerri looks over, waves, and calls out. "Hello! Eve is such a delight. She offered to help me with a few things."

"Oh." an approving nod "Well, we try to raise her properly..she's a bit odd,m but over all a good girl" Her mother nods "Come back to us when you are done, Eve"

"thy wills be done" Eve mutters "I mean. yes mom"

"Oh, I'll make sure she gets right back to you!" A beaming smile...and then a look at Eve, one that clearly communicates, you're not off the hook until all those bags are in the cart.

Eve's mother nods and goes back to the celery section

Eve catches the look and says "Suddenly Sylvi makes so much more sense now ... I mean.. one more to go"

"Thank you, Eve." Such a gentle smile. Such a sense that she's getting off easy.

"You're welcome.. I needed a work out, you know? Hone the muscles or you wont' keep them? Or develo pthem? Like... something you have that's a part of you you're afraid will die if you don't use it? You know?" and for a moment the girl looks rather sad

"Oh, certainly. I understand that. For example, some people are exceedingly strong, and they should use that strength when it's appropriate...but never to harm those who have done no wrong. All gifts are wonderful...when used in the proper times and places and amounts. Now, I hope you'll come visit the Lodge soon. I should have a good supply of cookies soon." She pats the stack of sugar bags.

A soft smile, "So.. as the good book says, don't shoot your whole wad?"

Then she covers her mouth and blushes

An eyebrow...and a grin. "Pretty much." She gives the girl a wink. "Go back to your folks, now."

Another blush, a head bob and she retreats to her folks

Kerri watches her go, still grinning, and goes back to finishing her shopping. Okay, maybe she didn't need that much rice just now, but it'll get used.

so it will... and victory for the trolls. She'll leave Tiffany in the Chief's clutcches, the storm called dibs.

And Kerri hums the Rivervale song as she heads for the checkout.

It is perhaps a bit of irony that the local kinian and kithain in the area give her softly spoken bits of praise about her 'triumph' on Imbolc. she need not mention to them the required hot springs therapy. Her reputation as the Hearth invulnerable remains intact

...but hopefully not to be tested too often.
