I'm just saying that a narwhal tattoo drawing attention to my butt WOULD look awesome for the lads. Don't worry. Won't get that one. Consider it a very early birthday gift to you" Amused "Hey, that was easy shopping"

Frank might be sweating just a bit. "Thank you, Siv."

"Oh dad" A nudge, "I'll get you a real gift too. " then an odd sequey "Dad. Do you think i 'm a good singer who could become a pro if I got the training?"

"Um." Frank blinks, whiplashed. "I... I've never thought about it. You have a good voice I think, but then... I'm biased."

"Yeah, well, that's honest, thanks" She says looking thoughtful again, then 'Tom Ness said he thought so. I just wanted another view. "

"Ness... the satyr from Imbloc?"

"Yes. He had some good songs, leaned towards the sad ones. " She says "he mentioned I had a good voice, thought.well, doesn't matter now it's done" A shrug "So...what's for dinner?"

"Not sure." They're on the last miles to the Lodge parking lot. "You thinking of going Tove's route? It's a good one."

"Oh I want to travel dad, singing would just be a way to pay for hearth or meal while I did it. Don't worry, i'd still make Rivervale my homeport.. Short trips , a month here, a month there"

"After you graduate? High school?"

"Or a half year or so after that. '

She looks like she's tempted to say more, but torn

Frank glances, pulls into the lot. "And?"

"It's just.. Mr. Ness offered me an apprentice ship," She sighs "On a cruise ship near Scandinavia, father. He'd teach me singing and instruments, and I'd be his back up... and I would cruise to norway and Sweden and maybe iceland or..well... it was very tempting. But then.. .then Dagmar at that moment sang that song. That song Tove made to remind me of my home. A song that Dagmar took to her heart too. Dad, she NEVER does that in public, she likes to have something to do, not to take risks of attention.... but she did! And I was proud of her. But also...it made me realize that I couldn't just leave Rivervale. it is my home. Maybe a home I won't always be at but... I.. would miss it and..." A deep breath "if I'd just run off, even if I told you and mum, it would HURT you....both. And I don't want that either. So I told him no. For my own sake, and for the lodge, and for family."

Frank kills the engine and turns in his seat to look at Siv, brow furrowed with concern. "Siv." he pauses "Yes, Rivervale is your home. You're a wilder, it is your time for... for adventures. If you want this apprenticeship... we could talk about it. School can be managed. You can't deny who you are, Fishie."

She hugs her father tight "Thank you. It helps to hear that. IT really does. But.. I think I made the right choice staying. Dagmar is coming so far. Was a time I'd say it was a sign from the Dreaming that she sang that but that would make it about me, wouldn't it? I'm so desperate to be real that I want to have some glorious destiny even when soothsay doesn't work on me worth much. But it does show that by sharing the song, I gave her a tool to ..find what the place meant to her. I was.. useful, I mattered to not just you and mum, but a girl who is my cousin now. And now you invite me to this quest, a dangerous quest I could get killed on, but so could you and mum so at least I'm WITH you as family member...if I had agreed to mr. Ness' offer, I'd miss all this and more." then A ough" Sides, whose to say I'm not getting in plenty of trouble now? You think I can't find quests here, Teaneck, or Firnost? I met mages dad. Got December 17th back. Trust me, it's not just school , chores and boys."

Frank hugs her back but then scowls. "Believe me. I remember." Not fond memories, it seems.

"Oh tish tosh, I turned out right as rain and zara and I are good friends. Now, let'ss get inside. And since you've opened up the door to appreintice ships, well, maybe I will look for a ship this summer just a month or two. But for now, we go in, chores, we eat, and I'll be ready when this rescue starts."

Frank unbuckles and gets out to lock up the car. "I don't mind the research, Siv, but let's check with your mom first."

"You two have no love of surprises. You know?" But she doesn't say no, and seems to understand they should indeed check with her mom first

"We're trolls."

"You know, you're right. I should totally go on more adventures while I'm a wilder. Ohterwise when I turn into a grandame I'll try to schedule it ..yuck"A winsome smile "Maybe I'll get a hold like Jessica did. Have a bunch of handsome lads feed me grapes. " she is clearly joking and in they go or at least she does

"Hmphm."

Siv seems happy as a lark for someone who might be risking her life soon, but like he said 'they're trolls'

Olgar goes looking for his daughter. This, he thinks, is not going to be fun.

Dagmar is at the lodge, trying to convince BrownDog to "play dead."

Olgar says "Hey, Dagmar, you seen Sylvi?"

Browndog does not quite get this, okay, laying down... sure, he did, but that was like two seconds ago

His tall thumps and he turns up on his belly

"Um - she was in the practice ring, I think. Cheerleading stuff."

"Oh, close enough..." A treat.

WAG munch, lick!

And indeed, Sylvi has found a less-muddy section of the ring and is trying to improve her high jumps.

She rubs his belly. "Silly dog."

"Yeah, I'll be out there then.. thanks" Even as he goes out, Jaymes cojmes in, the two fathers exchange looks

"Okay."

"So, BrownDog, that's roll over. Right - DOWN, and then OVER..."

Browndog chases his tail

Olgar sees his daughter by the ring "Hey, how's it going?"

Jaymes sees his daughter trying to train Browndog "He's not as smart as the fae hounds." Simply observed

Sylvi is trying for arch kicks, and is breathing hard when her dad shows up. "Oh! Hi, Dad. Whew!" She half-laughs as she tries to catch her breath. "Okay, I guess. Just want to get a bit more airtime in my jumps."

"No, he ain't. But he tries!"

"And wait... okay. Brown Dog, lay down ."

(Practice Ring) "Huh. You already got pretty good hang time, but more power to you. I got important news"

Brown dog lays down..ish?

"Yeah?" She immediately looks serious. "What's happening?"

Jaymes smiles a bit. then grows sober "I need your help with something."

"Good boy!" Ear-rumple. "Roll over..." She leads him with the treat. "Help with what?"
