Tiffany bounds up to say 'Hi' to Vali now, shoving paws to balls by accident

'ooff" Vali gasps

Well, maybe it was an accident

"A new changeling? That could be cool. better than the boring two.."

"Well, new to us.." Vali says.with a smile "And omens aren't always accurate.." He says after he recovers "Excuse me, my girlfriend is a bit miffed at me because we misssed a movie and I turnedd into a working date."

Dramatic grrr... and then a wag

"Ohhh... right. Go do things. Hey - the cold... that reminds me, Chief said I should talk to you about that."

"Oh?" He says ..

Tiffany circles behind a tree and comes out a woman "Hey, Kid Blue. Geez, I think you're taller than when I saw you just a day ago"

"What's up?" he asks.

"You know the cold art, right? That's why the house was cold? I did it - when we went down to the Pine Barrens."

"Yeah? " He looks to Tiffany "Mind if we..."//Tiffany slaps his ass "Go, Obi One. Teach Luke. I'll hang about"//Vali gives Tiffany a kiss. Then turns "Yes... I heard something about that."

"It's actually got quite a history... magic has changed some since before you became to us. Kyros has become Winter, sort of. I started out learning one and then ended up learning both. "

"Oh..."

"You want lessons?" He says

"I... sorta? So I can do it on purpose, at least."

"Sure..." He says "Some think the arts of ice, colda nd numbness are banal, that they are tied to a spiritual winter... but there is a difference between sleep and death..." he begins to explain the philosphy "It is tied more often to Unseelie liking, but is hardly their domain only."

"Well, didn't you say I was unseelie?"

"And Varich is an unseelie house, so I was probably unseelie before, when I was in Arcadia..."

"Ah, previous training.. yes, if anyone would know Winter magics out of the noble houses ,the Varich would. " He agrees, "And you were Unseelie, whether you are now? mmm I'd guess not,but either way, you're one of us now."

"Well, I mean, I think Nadeen is unseelie."

He looks about and finds a branch... "Chill cantrip... the mer have a version called Cold shock, very similar" A burst of cold on it.

"Yes! Like, it sort of stunned him, I think."

She picks up a stick and whirls in a circle with it - a burst of glamour, and frost crackles along the wood.

He looks at it carefully "Interresting.."

"Why interesting?"

"Maybe it wasn't the Varich who taught you in whatever life...Winter is the early seasonal art return, Kyros is the Mer version that survived while Winter was lost... Winter arts are refound, but Kyros remains as a branching path. Maybe one of your past lives was near the sea... or perhaps the Varich are the ones who helped bring Winter to the Mer. Interesting possilbiities."

"Maybe I was a sailor like Siv. That'd be nice."

"Or a lighthouse keeper like Aquaman's father.. " A wink "Okay, I learned Kyros before I learned winter, so let's follow what you kknow..." He gestures to Dagmar and snow whirls about her then movees to the side, when the snowwhirl wind stops.. there's a dupliate Dagmar made of ice, at least, a facsimile of her

"Oh, cool!" She reaches out to touch it.

Solid ice, not chimerical ice, mortal ice

"Real stuff takes more glamour, right? Jaymes said I almost fell asleep after using it on Erik the Grasp."

"Yes... though 'real' isn't the way to think o it, Autumn world stuff? Mortal stuff? it's... well, Dagmar is REAL."

"Right. Mundane? Physical?"

"Mundane works." A smile

"So - Mundane. It costs more."

"Yes, it'll drain you" He says "Understand, both Kyros and Winter are dangerous... the most powerful version of Kyros can freeze you inside out, tear you apart. The most powerful cantrip of winter? You saw how we kept tove alivee. Imagine her not able to awaken for a century, not feel anything, numb, a thing insead of a person"

"...like... Sleeping beauty?"

"Yes..." He says "Like Sleeping beauty. And more... "A thought "It stills and puts even passions to sleep"

She bites on her lip. "Like... like when I get too angry, I could just... stop it?"

"that's more Winter than Kyros, but yes... but it's..." He ponders "its 'not something to play with. It's like opiods, it's not meant to be used too often."

"Kyros is more a battle art. Pretty bad ass. Winter delves into the spirituaal side. I can teach you both over time"

"Right... I'd rather have a good fighting art."

"I thought that would be your style" He nods "Ice prisons are up there, but dangerous. If you don't create a spot for them to breath, they can die"

"Well, yeah - that'd be a jerk move."

"Any art can be abused. Of course, what constitutes abuse may be a matter of opinion, but I think you understand where your own lines are...and will learn more there soon. Now... even winter has fun..as that statue indicates..." A smile "So while Winter and Kyros can be terrifying, there's a playful side and I suggest embracing it"

"You would, Punster." Said without rancor.

Tiffany chuckles "She's got you there, Damsel"

Vali nods "You ..have a lot of anger. You're not alone in that. For me? Humor is a way to cope with my own dark impulses." He says to Dagmar "You'd be surprised how many of your fellow trolls have deep passions inside and not all nice. Some of us have wills of steel and focus on duty and closing it in a few release it in small ways. others distract themselves with interests and exertion. the Cold arts can be... an expression of that anger, or a way to find focus and put it to the side. " he gestures and makes Tai chi kind of move ...for a moment, he's like a Water Bender! But with snow and ice and stuff! It trails from his hands and ... he breathes out, like a White Dragon in those D&D games! A blast of cold that might kill Anything if it had just been in the way erupts

Then he stops the exhale. It stops, and he inhales "Oom"
