Haestein gives a lazy swirl and practice sweep, then nods "Ready"

Dag nods. Her style is... direct, the wooden polearm swinging inexorably towards the other wilder.

And she finds her blow swatted to the side and then she finds he's using that gap to jab her in the belly

She steps back and does a reverse swing - both heads of the halberd can do damage, this one is the clawed hammer, not the axe blade.

He blocks, but this time cannot so easily swat it away, "I see what he meant by gifted" A shift of footing and he slashes for her thigh where she can't quite bring things up in time, at least that's his plan. She might realize this is one of those precision strikes Vali was trying to teach her, or maybe not.

One advantage of the halberd is its long haft - it is much shorter to bring up the butte end to block than try to maneuver the head. THAT she's been working on with Siv and Vali...

And he's surprised, "Nice" She could tell his blow was strong.

But she also blocked it so the mmight behind it, nullified

And with all the subtlety of an oncoming train, she hits his weapon with the shaft of hers, a blunt force ram.

He grunts and holds then pushes not just back, but to the side and seeks to trip her

And her legs get twisted, causing her to fall as he maneuvers her just so. And down she goes.

Bad footing, and a grunt as she hits the dirt - but she's scrambling back up as quick as she can.

And gets a strike with his practice weapon. He's not waiting for her to get up.

A grunt as she's hit, but that doesn't stop her. She lets the halberd fly - full-barrel, not pulling her blows like she tends to.

He tries to block but her full might means its what happens is his weapon is nearly torn from him and he still gets a hit "shit" He says as most of the blow catches him along the side. Had this been a real weapon, he might be nursing a bruised rib at the least

Hesitation, and she takes a step back rather than pressing for advantage.

"Don't apologize, " He says "I'm sure not apologizing for this..."A precsion blow attempt, though not as precise as he's like. That hit from her sure means he needs a moment

She goes to block, and another ram - though he can feel the difference, she pulls, just a hair. It's still like being hit by the tide.

He backs as she closes, and braces for impact much like a pike man taking on an oncoming knight on a horse

Trying a Siv move - whacking at his lower legs with the pole.

She catches it in the belly, she gets him in the legs, the results- that slush works to HER Advantage, sort of. She ends up kknocking him down but he lifts her up into the air and for a moment she is flying! Okay, not flying.

Olgar laughs "Pardon, but I think your'e both dead. "

"Good thing it's wood!"

"Yeah, or I'd be Legless, and not the elf"

Olgar says "Dagmar, you used some strategy there. We may have to let Vali train you more often"

Hastein puts his weapon down "Nice tumble. Fun" A grin ? He enjoyed this

"Yeah! I think I lost control a little with that one hit..." She offers him a hand up.

"But fun."

He takes it and gets up, "Go ahead and tell me how I messed up, Olgar"

"You underestimated her for one." he says "Warned you she was strong. You shouldn't have tried to match her ... you wanted to see HOW strong made it a contest."

Hastein sighs. That way folks do when someone else has a point but they don't want to admit it

"Point, I am a fledge. Don't have sweet leet skills yet, sarge."

"Yup. Need more precision drills" Olgar says, "only way you'll get them"

"Man those get old" Hastein mutters

"Not encouraging the fledge there, Rookie" Olgar snaps, not with spite but just in an authority style

"Yes, drill sarge" the younger Ogre smirks

"Uhg. They suck." Siiiiigh.

"Uh huh" Olgar says "If either of you need a lesso nin the difference makes, you can try to block MY blows , and see how many I get past you"

"I got the bruises to show for those, I know it."

"Pass" Hasein says "No fun if I can't hit back"

"Arguably, you just have to hit hard enough, and it won't matter if they block - right?"

"I mean, a broken arm is still out of the fight."

"Even your strength can't break everything," Olgar says "remember, you'll be facing foes in armor. You need precision to find the weak points in that armor and hit it, otherwise you're going to find some foe who can take those hits standing there and hurt you back worse."

"I think he's saying you'd still hurt them, but not enough to win in the long run"

"Well, I can take a beating pretty good."
