Dirk walks the halls of school. Folks make a fucking hole, because, redcap. Even when they don't see, the unenchanted feel something- the menace. It's the feeling prey get when a predator moves about them and they can hear his stomach growl

He sees Zane, the two exchange-a smile? Some hidden understanding, and on they go. Each to their own classes, no else the wiser.

Olgar and Hastein spar behind the lodge. Olgar with his ugly notched axe, Hastein using a newer looking one, but just as big. The heat from their breath steams making the two giants look a bit dragon like.

Dagmar has appeared, schoolbag dropped at her feet as she watches. Not even a snack!

Olgar is an ugly man, and seems almost to have an ape like gait as he hufs and works. Hastein makes short aggressive bursts of energy, axes clang and clash!

Dagmar has been in Hastien's shoes - indeed, she's been paired up with a lot of different trolls in the past few months. She knows Olgar can be sneaky with an axe, especially if one gets distracted for just a little bit. As such, she doesn't call attention her way.

But... my... the wilder is easy to watch.

Indeed, Dagmar knows that that ape like gait is pretty much the viking equivalent of Drunken Kung Fu. Hastein doesn't, and as he moves to what appeared to be the weak flank,the younnger olgar ends up with a knee in his gut and the hilt of the axe in his back. For anyone else, this would be an end, but Hastein roars and shakes free, coming up with a slash that strikes at Olgar's shoulder.

There must be some sort of magic in play, because the blows seem blunted.

Olgar grins "Good. Don't let surprise panic you. If you don't know what the hell is going on, it's probably just another day on the job"

A soft snort.

Hastein turns to see where the snort came from

And gets the flat of Olgar's axe upside his head "And don't get distracted. Rotate the fight if you have to see, but don't lose focus on the immediate danger"

The younger ogre reels a bit, then spits on the ground "You're a son o a bitch, you know that?? " He doesnt complain about a cheap shot beyond that though. Unseelie, honor is a lie.

Whoops. Well. He'll learn.

"Probably where I got the fangs from" Olgar bears his wolf like teeth, then says to Dagmar "Hi, Dagmar. We're just beating the crap out of each other. Training, you know?"

"Yeah, I see it." She nods. As typical for after school, Flyswatter is slung across her back - she's rarely without it, still.

"I owe her a spar later," Hastein says.

"I remember," Olgar says, "Careful, Dagmar's got the gift of Atlas- basically that means she's stronger than most trolls even without oaths."

"Huh" The younger rover looks over and nods. "Kay"

"Chief's way stronger than me. So are you and the Mountain."

"Pretty common" Hastein smirks "It's the dreaming's way of compensating older trolls for hair loss." And he brings up his axe just in time to parry Olgar's blow

"Smart ass. Nice reaction time though" Olgar says as their axes part

She leans against the fence, arms cross along the top rail as she watches.

The two go back to sparring. there are fewer rules in the style Olgar teaches . Hastein ends up getting a few licks in, but for every one he lands, the older ogre has laid out three. Still, there can be no denying whose easier on the eyes to watch, and the younger rover is no slouch- he's just not as experienced as Olgar. Probably more so than she herself though.

Well, that's a low bar - skill so far has been secondary to stubborness and raw power.

And they don't just use axes. When it seems the weapons get locked, Olgar SLAMS his forehead into Hastein's sending the fellow back, which is all he needs to press the attack.

She touches her own horns, considering.

Hastein sweeps the leg and uses the time bought to retrieve his weapon

"Nah you don't," Olgar lunges and grabs the younger fellow's weapon and then somehow, Hastein ends up with two axes' edges at his throat

Hastein ponders how the hell that happened, then says "So... a draw then?"

A chuckle.

Olgar chuckles as well "You're pretty funny for a corpse. Get up. You're progressing well, you just need to learn to take a few things less for granted. Like the idea that that is YOUR weapon. Soon as it leaves your fingers, unless there's magic on it, possession becomes nine tenths the law."

"Got it," Hastein rises out of the snowy ground

"Man, you need a thing like Mjolnir - hold out your hand and thwack, it returns to you."

"You know where I can find one?" Hastein says "Because this is what I got" he says when his axe is handed back to him.

A sigh. "Probably the Dreaming."

Olgar grunts "I know a smith who can make you one that does it, but it don't come cheap"

"Great. I need to rescue someone rich and grateful" Hastein says with a grunt.

Lots of grunting among unseelie troll guys

"Dunno, you could try batting eyelashes at a sidhe?"

"I tried that once," Olgar says "they paid me to stop"

Hastein almost lets a smile escape, then looks to Dagmar, "Probably not going to happen. So... you want to spar a bit? or want me when I'm fresh?"

A shrug. "Whatever. I have a practice weapon - you don't wanna meet Flyswatter for real, y'know?"

"Probably not," He says with a nod of respect to the weapon "Let me grab a practice one too then."

"Cool." She vaults the fence and heads over to the weapons locker - there are, in fact, several practice flyswatters. Given her track record of shattering them....

Hastein grabs another polearm for practice, his more like a becdecorbin or whatever it was called
