For Sylvi, it's been a busy day already ! The date with Colton was wonderful, but she really had to hoof it to get back. Now she's cheering and whooping with V jumps, while her dad is making a killing selling foam fingers.

It's early in the game, and right now, May , Gonzales, and Dagmar are on the bench, waiting to play

The first real competitive event she's cheered at, and...wow...the sound of the crowd...being able to whip them up even more....wow....

"Comeo n, coach, let us go in..." Gonzalez almost chants

"We ain't going in while the starters are fresh. Hey hey Martina! Go go go!"

"Go Martina!" May joins in

"Go go go! Go go go!" The cheerleaders pick it up.

Nadeen springs and bounces! the other girls take Sylvi's lead "Go go Go!" // Olgar waves! Colton claps

The rhythm drives along with the court action as the players race from one basket to another, shooting, missing, rebound, redirect....

The A team is doing okay, getting a lead, but they're also getting ragged!

Dagmar stomps, claps, hollers - she might not be playing, but she's fully invested.

This crowd is louder than the scrimmage crowds...this is a real crowd. Sylvi quickly converses with the other cheerleaders and they agree on a cheer that has clapping that hte crowd can join in on , and start.

Tove cheeers loudly for the girls

And then... Mrtina takes a spill... not anyone's fault, she just wore herself down.

A break in the enthusiasm as the crowd gasps. They wait to see if Martina's getting switched out.

they check her leg, and she hobbles back "Darn it, darn it, clumsy"

"Sucks, Martina..."

Applauding her off the court. "It's okay! It's okay, great job!"

The coach looks over at those on the bench "You did fine, Martina. But I'm not risking you right now. King. You're up"

Gonzalez pats Dagmar on the back "Go Sam!"

"Wooo! Go, Sam, go! Go go go!"

A grin breaks out. "Sure Coach." She's up and jogging out to the court!

Jaymes grins like a fool!

Dagmar is tall, even as Sam - if not the fastest girl on the team, her reach and stamina help her keep up with the more experienced players.

An older girl on the opposing team tries to intimidate Dagmar into moving position so they ccan crowd the ball handler

And the cheering starts again as the action resumes.

Gonzalez might be envious but she yells support "Don't you let them front you, Sam! "

Intimidate, ha!

Dag's primary job on the court is to guard, and that comes as naturally to her as breathing.

And Sam may not get the ball, but she does get a "Thanks" from the ball handler as she keeps the press off! 2 points for home!

the other team was expecting a push over, but Sam isn't that, no sir... and she has the sense to follow the examples of the more experienced players...and she practiced practied practiced

And practiced!

And Sylvi finds that the other cheer leaders take tehir cues not from Nadeen, who LOOKS great, sure, but from HER! "Should we do the lasso, Sylvi?"

Sylvi hears the question, assesses the game quickly, and nods. "Yeah, good idea. Okay, lasso, everybody, start on my count, 1-2-3-4...."

Running, shoes squeaking, arms up to block then... a pass? Ack! Catch, shoot!

And as the Lasso is done, Dagmar makes her crazy attempt at a shoot as she's cut off....

She's far - she probably should have tried to get closer, or pass the ball instead...

And the ball goes over into the air and bounces on the rim, once, twice! And then...goes in!

Even as the lasso move goes off flawlessly, the cheer leaders grabbing each other's arms and miming a living lasso to snatch the prize and make it snap

Twice-over victorious, Sylvi helps the cheerleaders keep the crowd's excitement high after that basket by swooping them right into another chant.

"Did you see my daughter?" Jaymes lifts Tove up

A quiet grin, and Sam falls back into position.

Syvli might laugh to notice that some how, one of her parents ahs talked the other into facepaint

Sylvi considers both of her parents to be adorably hopeless.

One of the other cheer leaders says "Okay, your rents are cool. Mine have like NO school spirit"

Dagmar gets pats on the back, the coach says "Good shot. You checked for an opening didn't see one...so you did what you had to. Nice work, King"

Another grin.

And the next ten minutes, poor Sam barely gets NEAR the ball, but that's okay... she does her job, she supports her team!

Sylvi never really thought of it as "school spirit" before...I mean, how cheesy does that sound?...but now it makes more sense somehow.
