"That's why Sam lied. Because of what... because of before. Making up stories."

"I wonder why the doctor lied..." Sylvi mutters.

"Stupid. Making up stories and telling lies. Telling lies about the real kids."

Siv ponders this as well, "Did the...was the doctor a friend to the foster family?"

"What's there to see? The same... it doesn't look different. I wasn't a virgin, so I deserved it."

She clamps her hands over her mouth, stifling a sob.

Sylvi doesn't reach to hug her.

Oh that is it, Siv hops down from the tree and moves to Dagmar, then notices that Sylvi..isn't hugging her, so instead of doing so. Siv sits next to Dagmar

"Sam... " She swallows, hands jammed back into her pockets. "Sam said he touched her and made her touch him and... he didn't... he didn't do the thing that had made her get taken away, before. Just... just touching and looking."

"He. Which one is that?"

Siv offers a hand to Dagmar

"And Sam made up stories, because that's what kids like that do, ones that were used up and broken."

"Well, grown ups make up stories when they don't want to get caught." She folds her arms and frowns, still not looking at Dagmar.

"Or don't want theirp recicous boy going to jail"

"No. No. Sam was... acting out, right? He didn't... wouldn't have... not if Sam was a decent girl, not trash. Her fault."

"Oh, he sure would have. If a girl was in reach and he could find a way to get away with it, he sure would have."

"I can't not talk now" Siv says "'She was asking for it' or 'he was asking for it' when it comes to sexual assault especially, is bullshit"

"Where the penis goes is the fault of the guy it's attached to."

"I just don't wanna go to that doctor. I don't need to."

"Dagmar, what was the name of THAT doctor?"

"There wasn't anything to see."

Sylvi nods agreement with Siv about getting the name of THAT doctor.

"I don't remember."

A frown, "Wish you did but I can understand why you might want to forget it all. Dagmar, a person isn't in the wrong because they were forced into something like that. It means someeone else used their might for evil. The fault is not in the victim, and sam was a victim of evil."

"She was nice. Tried to be. But she just... I didn't like it... looking and touching and all exposed.. I didn't like it."

"And you need to make sure that creep from the past doesn't keep hurting Sam, or you."

"They sent Sam away. For lying."

"Well, Sam is better off without them"

"Okay...wait...you know that Jaymes is NEVER going to send you away, right? I know you want the Adoption Oath, but...he's a troll, and he has made a promise, and he's not going to back out of it.

"More likely he's going to try to hunt somebody down to punish them, cause I know that's what I want to do. A LOT."

"Agreed, but we won't tell him. We said we would not"

"Yup, totally not telling." Sylvi nods.

"He didn't do anything really, or it would have been... stuff the doctor could see. Just touching isn't the same. When Sam was little - the house they took the girls away? That they could see, they must've. I don't... I dunno, Sam was little then. I don't remember it."

a grumble.

She rubs her face. "And it's been two years. And... and two years, I mean, that's a long time to be hung up over what wasn't really anything. Just... just Sam overreacting..."

Sylvi's quiet for a moment before she asks, "Did you think he loved you?"

"Sam wasn't ever loved. Couldn't be."

"But Dagmar gets to be different. And then there will be the Oath, and Frank says the Oath is magic."

Sylvi quietly passes Dagmar the water bottle again, setting it down on the ground nearby if she doesn't take it.

"May I hug you now? I want to hug you or punch someone else. And I'm not sure who to punch"

Dagmar takes the water, finding her throat quite dry.

Sylvi's thinking hard.

She swallows. "Don't... I don't... I don't know. I'm sorry, Siv."

"It's okay," She says , "I'll find a punching bag or something later. "

"So...the hoodies...that's all part of this, right? Like...scars?"

"I don't like people looking at me."

"Yeah...but...scars?"

She rubs at her face again, looking defeated. "Some."
