Brekke stares at her silently for a few moments, then slowly releases a breath she hadn't intended to hold. "You could not have eased into that question a bit more gently?"

"Not and gotten through it, no" Still blushing "Sorry."

A sigh, and she gestures to the free spot next to her at the table. "Come and sit, my daughter."

She starts to take the set then says "Should I referesh your drink first? or maybe get some of Hearth Kerri's Sylvi Reserves?"

"No...but I would appreciate a coffee at this point." She polishes off the last of her glass's contents and sets it aside.

"here, JoJo" she gets the coffee pitcher

And pours her mum a cup and takes her seat

"Thank you, Siv." She takes a sip, then looks at her daughter seriously. "Tell me of this lad. What is he like?"

"I... uhm... well that's just it there are a lot of lads Ive flirted with, promising nothing. ye ken? But... I get curious, and there's this one lad. I..don't know why I ...see, I like him a lot. He listens, and he makes me feel good about myself not because's al' your so pretty' trying to steal a kiss,but because he...he listens, and I said that didn't I? He.." A deep breath "He's a challenge, but also supportive. Otherboys want me when I'm at my most fun, he's been there when I've been at my most miserable. If he.. if he asks when I'm all passion afore duty, I think I'll give in to some curiosities."A blush of shame "i'm sorry mum. I don't want you to think I'm a tramp and I don't want dad to think his girl is a .. you know.."

Brekke gets a sort of odd expression and brushes her hand over Siv's hair. "My daughter...you have said all the right things there. He sounds to be a fine, caring young man, if that is how he treats you." A deep breath. "You have the tools available to ensure your...well, health and safety. And..." A longish pause. "I think I prefer that your winter side shows itself this way, rather in the way winter grips at me." She looks down and frowns a moment before looking up again. "I would not think you a tramp," she concludes simply.

"Oh my winter side is just...rude sometimes, mum" She admits "slobby, so maybe the defense is that a fellow might be less attracted to me when I'm unseelie anyway...not sure it's my better side by any means. But ... well, with honor less on my mind than passion, I thinkI might give in for him. It's weird. I want ...but I resent wanting...but also like wanting? " A sigh "Just tell me boys feel at least as mixed up as we do or Im going to be cross with whoever dreamed genders up"

"I have no clue how boys feel in that regard. For that...you will have to talk with your father." An eyebrow.

"And suddenly I don't need to know so badly" She states then "I think.. I think the smart thing would be to prepare the possibility for that night specifically, using those tools and all.. then... reminding myself that I might not remembeer and..." She ponders "That might be the biggest defense of all. I don't think I like the idea of not remembering my first..." BLUSH 'You know.. time. Seelie or Un, a girl should know that shouldn't she? her first? I.. sorry, this is a lot to lob at you. I guess i just need to know that you won't think me a tramp IF it happens" She hugs her mom "Sorry I just... is it weird that fighting and floods I can handle but i'm kind of scared here?"

She returns the hug and rumbles a soft chuckle. "Not weird at all. Enemies and disasters need to be dealt with and fixed, and you try to keep yourself from being impacted by them. What you are seeking will have an effect on you. You are considering inviting this change...and yes, that is difficult. I will not think less of you, Siv," she says gently, then sighs. "I think life would be easier in some ways if we did not have these desires...but in truth, there is much to be gained from finding the right companion. You are right, though...Samhain may stir your passions, but it will take your memories, and if you do choose to bed with this young man, then you will want to remember. I hope you can wait until a better time...but I know that may not happen."

A nod, her brow knits and she's processing something then, a cautious smile, "Thanks mom . ithink..no, I know that helps."

"I am glad. But Siv...I was not merely making a suggestion before. You need to talk to your father."

A WINCE "Do I ... i mean.. really? Mum...he hates the idea of me being with... you know? I'm 16.. there are girls Sylvi's age who are...doing 'it' and I'm not saying when folks should or shouldn't ,but if it were up to da, I'd be drinking legally before I .. shared me most tender affections with a man. Isn't telling him just going to make him miserable and me too?"

"Do you think it would be any better if he found out afterwards?" She strokes the girl's hair again. "Well...I will not insist...but you do have questions that I cannot answer. He could answer some of them. I think you should consider giving him a chance to do just that."

her daughter leans into the stroking "It might make him miserable too if I don't talk, and hurt. Aye, no win on this story perhaps. I.. you're right. He's ..he's been a great dad. I don't always say it. Oh mom, I wish I could do the story of the video game truck adventure justice, da was so awesome! I know he hated it but it was one of me favorite times because we got to adventure together." A sigh "I guess I'm a simple girl. I like action and adventure, I don't like making dad depressed and worry I do that too much. Fine. I'll ...let him know" A pause "But if he puts me in some dungeon all samhain I'm gonna be right proper cross with him, ye know?"

Quietly, "I will tell you a secret...I do not think he hated it nearly as much as it seems. I think he hated that you were in danger there along with him. If it had not been for that, he would have done the job whole-heartedly, eagerly. But he wanted to protect you. He will always want to protect you, Siv, as do I...but we are both learning how to step back a bit, I think. And he was proud that you handled yourself so well in that game, proud that he knew he could count on you to do your part of the job. I think telling him how you are feeling and asking him your questions may give him away to continue to protect you as best as he can even while letting you go."

Brekke can see her daughter nearly swell withp ride right there "He did I..." A smile "Thank you, mom. That makes my day. "

"You are welcome. Just...when you tell him...be a bit more gentle on the lead-in than you were with me, hm?"

A cough "Right. His blood pressure, as a troll I should guard THAT right? I'll try to find a better lead in." light blush "Really threw you into it first thing didn't I? Sorry"

A grumble, "Like a snow bank after a sauna, but not as pleasant."

A wince 'right... just.. don't hit me with the curse "

A blink. "The curse?"

"The one where a changeling mother looks at her changeling daughter and says 'I hope you have a child just like you'" a shiver "I hear tales"

"Well...perhaps we will not talk about offspring just yet...?"

That might actually have been a joke.

A suspicious look, then a sly smile "Probably for the best, mum. " A nod "I'll try to ahm be more subtle with dad. Promise. Mind you, the bar shouldn't be hard to beat. Thanks for the talk. I needed it. " Realiztion "Oh I need to go. I mean, I have to do some school work if I want to be sure to have time to try out for Gymnastics"

"Gymnastics? I did not know you were considering that."

"Well I was thinking an after school event, if it's not too banal would be... you know...fun, and..oddly kind o a relief for you and dad? Normal student level dangers. I thought about other things too, but with Dagmar going for basketball and sylvi trying out for cheerleading I thought maybe I should try to find me own thing"

A bemused expression. "I think...that sounds like a very good idea. You will make sure to maintain your emergency dross, just in case...?"

She nods "Surely will. If I.. if I make it to some team, you don't have to show up to events. I know you're the busiest most important woman in the fief. You have to look after your people"

She shakes her head. "Siv...if there is any way that I can, I will absolutely attend your events. That is not even a question. But...first you must make the team, and then you must keep your grades up. Beyond that, you will need to continue to support the Lodge and the barony. Many obligations there." A pause, and she nods. "I believe you can do it."

"I will!" A beam "You'll see, mum. I can patrol and study and ...I know it's not going to be easy, but I can do it. You'll see. And..well, if it means a little less flirting with boys to make it work, dad'll call that a perk" wryly

"I was not going to mention that part..." A sip of coffee.

"You're sneakier than you look mom" Fond accusation "Well, I best get some studying done so I can have time to flirt later. Right now, I'm Seelie, so Duty but I plan on having my passions too. " A hug "Ta, mom. "

She hugs her back. "Do good work, my daughter." It sounds like a blessing, and she gives her a kiss right between the horns.

Once she has the room to herself again, though, she looks at her coffee mug a bit wearily, and pours a shot of the alcohol into it.

Another blush, bu this a happy one, and her daughtter skips off.
