And a worried look to Sylvi

"You made both? Oh, that's great!"

"I bet gymnastics would be super useful for rapier training..." she mimes stabbing and parrying things.

"Cool." Sylvi takes out her phone and starts texting again.

"Not great, I can't do both. Found out their schedules clash. Or will. so … I really got over eager. Now, Gymanstics might have combat advantages, but Dance is fun and ..ah, while I'm not THE bustiest lass around, more forgiving for ah fuller figures than Gymnastics"

"Thanks, Dagmar, thanks, Sylvi"

A sigh at Sylvi's antics. "Who you texting? Looks intense."

"Well - if dance is fun, dance is fun."

Olgar drives quietly.

A glare at Dagmar and a glance at the back of her father's head before saying, "Nobody."

"What?" She glares back. "What the hell is your problem today? You were being a total bitch during tryouts."

"Am I invisible? " Olgar sys still driving, "Or are you folks just assuming I'm deaf?"

"Sorry, Rover," Siv says "Girl talk."

Olgar snorts at something

"I was NOT!" Sylvi looks positively wounded. "How can you even say that?!"

"You weren't even trying, and you were rude to the other girls."

"Like, if you didn't want to try out you didn't have to! You didn't need to come and be like that..."

"FIRST of all...not trying doesn't make you a bitch. Second, tell me one thing I said, ONE thing, that was rude! The only reason I showed up at the stupid tryout was because you wanted me to, and you made a big deal about it, but now I 'didn't need to'? Who's being the bitch now?!"

"Hey now, w'ere all friends," Siv says

"Let's remember that" she adds

"Hey, SHE started it!"

Sam takes a breath... and... that's it. Her expression is blank and hard.

The brakes squeal abbit "Do I need to pull over?"

"See? You can't even say one thing I said to them that was rude!" But then Olgar puts the brakes on, and she settles back in her seat with her arms folded.

"You made these faces..."

"It's. My. FACE."

"But you..." A realization, and she clams up again.

Sylvi rolls her eyes and sighs loudly, very much the put-upon party.

Siv wines looking unsure what to say or do to ease this

Sam shrinks, folding her arms around her torso and expression hardening into a stony glower.

Olgar however drives calmly as they get to the lodge, and pulls over, "Dagmar, I hope you don't mind a short walk. Siv and you need to step out a moment. I want to talk to my daughter alone."

Her eyes widen at that. "Yes, sir."

"What?! What did I...I didn't do anything WRONG!"

And out of the car... and a brisk, stiff-legged walk away, making off for the Barn with as much dignity as she can muster. She waits until she's out of sight to run.

"Ah, yes, Rover" Siv says "Sir, she's just having a bad day because.." then she claims up, realizing that would betray a trust of sorts. She didn't promise to keep a secret but in girl world well

"I'll learn from her, thanks both" he shooes them out

"What are you even..." Sylvi tries to respond to Siv, but then she's gone, too.

Siv steps out, and then seeing Dagmar and moves to keep pace

Olgar turns "Okay . Slyvi. What happened today? what really happened after school? No B.S."

"Hey, Dagmar, wait up now" Siv says "I .. are you okay?"

An open-mouthed expression of shock and outrage at being questioned, but...well, she has the floor, so she starts telling the tale again, much as she told it to Siv in the locker room, perhaps with a few more details. "And it was just all so STUPID when you really think about it, and why should I even bother with stuff that I just don't care about?" Ending on a plea-for-sympathy tone.

"Go home, Siv."

"Can't," Siv says "Me crew's having trouble. won't be able to sleep"

She snarls. "Go home. I don't wanna talk!"

"That's okay" Siv says "I talk enough for both of us. Yes, she was being a bitch. MAYBE I should have backed you up... No, I don't think it was helping. YES I can tell this is really getting to you. No, I don't know the cure. YES I'm worried for her but I care about you too. You're my cousin too."

Olgar looks at his daughter "So... you tried for cheerleading, and got your pride slapped hard when you got put on the B squad because you KNWO you could be better than that. But then when basket ball comes in, you prefer to brood on how the Cheer team is foolish to have not seen that, than actually focus on giving your best for the basket ball game. So … you did something that would mae me proud, knocking your freshman ass out for one thing, to losing that with the next thing because it's better than feeling rejected twice. Am I right on this?"

Her chin juts out. "No I ain't. I wanna go home."

"Are too" Stubborn chin jut back "The five of us held the hill, and took the hills of others! We beat the odds. And it was glorious. And you are me cousin. And I care about you. And I care about sylvi, and honestly I want to knock her head a bout too."

"That's not....That's NOT what I said!"
