"Sylvi..." a nod with her chin, indicating the other trio to her kithmate.

"You could use a little more streets yourself, girl. You were half assing it all practice" Golnanaz says to Sylvi

Sylvi rolls her eyes and shrugs at Gonzalez. "WhatEVer."

"Thanks.." The Latina does take Sam's hand "You and May are so in."

Her eyes narrow at Sylvi, chin jutting out. "Sylvi."

"What?" Her expression suggests that Sam must be crazy or something.

"It's ..uh mokay, let's not fight?" May says as voices get tense.

"No need to fight. Good match." Handshakes offered to the other two opposition girls.

"Tsk." She sucks her teeth. "Not fighting." A little laugh. "You'd know if we were fighting."

She drops her voice. "What's with you?"

"I'm Dalena, but you can call me Gonzalez.. and.." Side eye at Sylvi

"Sam. So - Sam. That's Sylvi, and that's May. You a freshman, too?"

"Nothing, what are you talking about?" back to Sam.

A little chin jut as Sam introduces, but no handshake offered.

"Yeah.." Dalena says

She folds her arms and looks kind of bored.

"Seriously, something crawl up and die? You're acting weird."

"Oh, please."

"Okay, I've ot the list..." The Coach says "Here's the 8 of you who made it, those of you want to try out again can try next week"

Another frown, eyebrows creaking into a crease. By now, Sylvi at least recognizes Dag's 'thinking face.'

"Already? Wow!" Expression changing like the wind, curious now.

Sylvi gives the paper a disinterested look, and then checks her nails.

She puts the list up. King is on it... Morhouse, and Gonzalez. One name not on it? Davidson. Sylvi is not on the eight

She's hardly alone in that, other girls who didn't make it wince, sigh.. some will quit because it's gonna be too hard, others because it's insulted them, and some weren't that into it but a ew will try again next week

"No worries...got more important things to do anyway. Congrats to you though, Sam." She gives her a punch in the shoulder, then heads for the locker room.

Sam grins when she reads her name, but then...

it... falters...

"We made it" May says to Sam, "I never would have made it if not for you"

"Sure you would've. You're good. And tall!" Her tone is upbeat, but her eyes are looking at the locker room door, confused and hurt.

"That never worked for me before" May says hten tilts her head, "Your friend, maybe she's just having an off day?"

"Maybe she's full of herself" Dalena says

"I guess... I dunno, she's not usually..."

"If she's not usually, then maybe she's got a reason right now," May says "It's okay. Give her time."

Sylvi changes in the locker room. Their loss- both times. Rise above the insult, better than feeling the other things.

"Well.. well, I mean, hey - teammates." A flat smile, trying.

"You got that right. Now if only I could borrow a cup of height from you," Gonzalez says "I'd be invincible" A nudge good natured

Besides, she'd rather get back in her nice clothes, not these gym sweats. A proper uniform would look nicer, but... Well, still, who needs it.

"Well, see, we gotta keep you in line..." Another quick smile, a gentle rib back.

She changes pretty quickly...didn't work up enough of a sweat for a shower...and takes over a bathroom mirror to fix hair and makeup.

"Ha" Dalena says//May smiles less insecure with these two

and Siv pops in,"Hey, how did it go?"

Sam seeks out the rest of the eight, dragging May along.

OOC: was going to say the Gym, but let's make it the locker room since Dagmar is off to see the 8 🙂 )

BIC: Sam finds the other 5, and ..oddly, most of those snickering at May did not make it!

And the one who did looks almost apologetic.

Sylvi looks at Siv in the mirror's reflection. "Oh, hey! It was...I dunno, kind of boring. I mean, you know, not my thing, I guess...but Sam got in."

Sam has been studying under RV's eyes for a few months now - a handshake, a quick positive word, that's what you do, right? It seemed to work at Pennons.

And it works here, another African American girl seems to be flaymboyant but friendly "Oh thank god, another sister on the team, we just might win" she says to Sam

Siv grins "Did she? fantastic for her... oh, I'm sorry, you didn't want Cheerleading? You'd have been great at it." she says
