"Yeah - you think stuff for fighting? That'd be cool."

"Well, it's up to you what your style is. I don't know fashions and stuff I...just want you to like what you wear."

"Well, so long as it's comfortable. That's important."

"Well, I got you a T shirt... saw it on the internet and value has this prime account so let me use it..." He pulls finds a package "Here, try this on when you get the chance.. if it's the wrong size we can send it back. Or if you don't like it"

"Yeah?" She smiles, looking surprised and pleased.

"Well, truth to tell, I didn't get it because you needed clothes, I got it because I thought you'd like it. Now I'm using to save face for dethreading these antique pants"

And... she tears into the package. "Oh, sweet! I like it!" Jaymes... gets a very, very brief hug. "Imma try it on!" And she thunders back upstairs.

"Ah.." he grins as she bounds off, the hug was brief but she meant it. "Huh, maybe I'll get this dad thing down right. "

Dag returns in a bit, t-shirt on over a long-sleeved henley. "It fits okay. I'm gonna show Siv, she'd like it."

"Didn't Siv go to visit her sis?"

"But yeah, she'd like it" a nod

Siiiigh. "She did."

"Stupid trods. It's not fair."

"SHe'll be back soon enough" He says "Just don't go taking bubbles to track her down"

"You think we could direct a bubble to mexico?" A grin.

"No." He says "No. I do not."

"No fun, Jaymes. Ooo... can we make tacos?"

"Or nachos... I'm gonna see what's in the fridge..."

"We have some freezer tacos... not sure about nachos..." He says "Help yourself. Oh, and I got some oranges. Have some fruit as a side dish so it doesn't spoil okay?"

"Tomato is a fruit!" And she's off again, rummaging in the fridge.

"I ..." He pauses "Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that someone needs to eat an orange or two"

"Okay, okay. You hungry?" Cabinets slamming, plates... does she do anything quietly?

"Yeah, I'll have something" He says joining her in the kitchen now that clothes are in a basket "You doing the cooking?"

"Just hafta heat up the meat, right? The rest is sorta... stacking..."

"I can stack!"

"Let's play it safe and take a look at directions " He proceeds to do. "Oh, Tove might be by tomorrow night wanting to bring us dinner, if that's okay?" Tove has been visiting a lot

"Sure. Tove is the best cook. Don't tell Kerri that."

"I think Kerri has her beat... " A pause "But don't tell TOve that"

"NOPE. We learned that one, right?"

"Oh, this says heat it up in a skillet, not the microwave..."

"Okay, no metal in the microwave. THat one I know"

The two tinker and work, Jaymes wanting to stick to the instructions. The bachelor and the kid.

"Oh yeah, it'll catch fire." Dagmar is setting out supplies - cheese and salsa and sour cream. "JAY-ames, it says you gotta ad a tablespoon of water!"

"Right... " He grabs one, make sure he's got that right size, he thinks it's the bigger one, and he adds that

And.... two oranges.

The meal is not fine cuisine, but it's tasty and edible. Jaymes nods half way through, he is not one for talking during a meal- then says "We're doing all right. You know that?"

Dag is on her third taco. "Huh?" Then, she considers. And smiles. "Yeah, this is alright."

A slight smile back, and the silence save for devouring- continues. Life is good.
