"She's in here, Jaymes," Kerri calls out.

Then she mimes locking her lips and throwing away the key.

That's before he comes into the kitchen.

Jaymes comes in, "Hey, why is it so cool in the lodge? " He says then a nod to Dagmar "Hey Dagmar. I can feel why you stuck around. Thought you might need the bale for a bit. Got worr... well, concerned"

"It's way nicer in the lodge. We need AC. Or a pool. Or to kidnap Vali and make him do funky winter magic."

"We have the benefit of a very talented Winter worker in Vali," Kerri says proudly.

Jaymes nods "mmm kidnapping Vali would be easier on the budget. " Pragmatic

"Yeah, but we'd pay in puns."

"Good point, drowning in the pool might be a lesser risk" He looks at her "It'll be a bit. "

"You don't get Vali." A firm pronouncement.

"Who's after him?" Gerd returns looking alarmed , even a bit spooked "whois...this time?"

"Well, almost fall!"

"Oh, and Halloween!"

"Oh, Gerd, I'm sorry...I was making a joke, saying they couldn't steal Vali to help them cool down their home. Vali's fine."

"Oh," Gerd takes a breath and relaxes. For a moment she looked very spooked indeed.

Jaymes looks to Gerd, "If anyone tried to take Vali away, jokes aside, the Hearth would fight to defend him, and I would help. " A firm nod "Dagmar too I suspect, even if O told her to hang back. " A look to Dagmar "you enjoy scrapping and like protecting friends-tell me if I'm wrong"

"Well, yeah. You saw. I can fight!"

"There's not a person in this room who wouldn't fight to help Vali if he were threatened, Gerd." Kerri assures her.

Jaymes nods "Damn straight."

Perhaps to both comments

Gerd looks relieved, then says "Thank you. I ...it's just well, it's not always a nice world to Beaumayn... I guess it won't be so bad being a wilder even if I get scowly or vain or boycrazy.... at least I'll be able to fight too to help him."

Kerri gives her a measuring look, then nods.

"Vali's one of us, so - yeah."

Gerd hugs each of them, yes Dagmar too though briefly "Ok. Thanks. I'm gonna go to my room now."

Jaymes looks at Dagmar "ready to go home? A cold sshower might help you can have dibs"

"Brush your teeth, Gerd," Kerri directs automatically.

"Already did..oh right, the popsicle... " A sigh as now she must do it again.

"I guess... man, I hope it rains soon."

"See you later, Miss Kerri." She rumples Gerd's hair. "You too. Okay, I'm ready..."

Jaymes nods and escorts her out ..."Yeah, Autumn can't get here soon enough weather wise..."

Thanks to partly cloudy and a slight shift, and perhaps more...the heat burst has dimmed down to a mere 88 during the day. This does not mean Dagmar is avoiding the fan though

Her room wonderful as it is can still feel a bit hot.

And in another part of the house, Jaymes blinks as one out fit is ready to come apart in his hands "Dagmar? You up there?"

"Yeah?" She calls back - sprawled out on the bed, a shopping bag tucked at its foot from the morning adventure with Kerri.

"You and Kerri went shopping right?" He asks, "The reason I ask is one of your pants has come to pieces. How old is this ?"

"Oh, shit, I'm sorry...." thundering footsteps as she heads down.

"Maybe I should have set this to delicate?"

"I don't think jeans are delicate..." a sigh. "I still got this pair."

"You like em?" Regarding 'this pair' she just got

Still got - same old jeans. "Um, they're fine? They're jeans."

"Sorry, just occured to me I should have realized you needed new clothes weeks ago" A slight frown "I'm dropping the ball here"

"I don't... I got plenty."

A raised brow "yeah?"

She shrugs. "Sure? You don't need to spend nuthin'..."

"Of course I do, I'm your Guardian. I'm supposed to provide for you. You've been good, great in fact." Slight frown "Just feel like I'm the one whose slipping. Uhm..so you know, how often do you think you'll need new clothes? and I need an honest answer here to budget and make time like you deserve"

"I... I dunno? It's not like you get them on a schedule. Sometimes my caseworker would get me stuff. Or there'd be donations."

A nod, then an ahem, "Do you...mind if I go to Kerri and or Tove for advice on this part of things? "

She bites on her lip. "Okay. But I don't need a lot. I guess new jeans?"
