colton beams "Awesome, they can teach it to the troubadours at Earth Runes."

A jaw drop at Vali. "No, you don't."

"Earth Runes is the Kansas one, right?"

"Missouri, " Colton says "Near Jefferson City..."

"Don't what?" Vali says looking at Sylvi then grins "You think I would miss a chance to do this? Oh yes. Torin wants ot know if if he should use drums."

"Missouri, ok."

Sylvi turns to stare at her mother. "I..."

Kerri shrugs back at her daughter. "After as many quests as you've been on, you've earned a ballad or two, I think."

Muffled. "I wanna ballad."

"I think it would be great," Colton tells Sylvi

"Well, I'll put you on the list," Vali says "I've commissioned as many as I could from our skalds for each member of the lodge and that includes you eventually"

A grin to Dagmar from Kerri. "I'm sure you'll earn your fair share of ballads."

Kerri blinks at Vali. "For...each?"

A grin, "Maybe, yeah. Big battle, someday."

"Kerri, when I told Olgar about this plan he chipped in to pay for it" Vali says

"Well, for yours. I might not have mentioned he was on the list"

Vali glances towards Dagmar at her mention of a big battle. He looks thoughtful, but then just drinks

Kerri goggles briefly, then puts her head in her hands. "Oh, this is going to be...interesting."

Sylvi smiles then. "It's only fair, Mom."

"Should sing about Kerri's potatoes." Dagmar is still half-sprawled against the tabletop, forehead resting on the wood.

"Actually," Vali says "For some reason, Olgar wanted to praise his wife's pie"

A straightface and a drink

Colton nearly chokes on his drink but tries to recover

"Her pie is pretty good, too."

"VALI!" Sylvi says, shocked.

Kerri merely turns very slowly to give Vali a LOOK.

"My hand to god, it's what he asked for" Vali says

"Perhaps...we could be a little more careful in our choice of words?" Kerri makes the suggestion with both brows raised.

"How clumsy of me" He says "My hand to Odin" Correcting

She lifts her head. "What's wrong with pie?"

"Hmm." Kerri seems mollified for the moment.

"I'll...tell you later," Sylvi whispers to Dagmar.

"Not enough of it" Colton sips..and whispers. Clearly not intending to be heard OOC: Perception plus Alertness 2 sux?

Vali nearly chokes on his own drink for something

Colton's hand gets a HARD squeeze.

Oh, now Colton's getting that LOOK from the Hearth.

Colton blushes nd looks like he might want to die "Pardon" A mumble

And Sylvi very carefully drinks her iced tea.

Another moment...and the Hearth relents. "Well...I suppose I know what I'm making for dessert tonight. If you'll all excuse me? And Colton, please tidy up the glasses when everybody is done." A slight grin and wink to her daughter, and she's heading to the kitchen.

A very soft snore from Dagmar.

"Yes, Hearth" Colton is Not even going to argue about that. he got off light and he knows it.

Vali looks at the sleeping Dagmar "She kind of snores like Jaymes"

"Wow...she just conked right out," Sylvi grins, then more quietly, "I wish she wouldn't wear the hoodies during the heat. It makes me feel hot."

"I thought it was a testament to my cantrip..she always wears them like that?" Vali asks curious now

"Yup." Sylvi nods. She's relaxed her deathgrip on Colton's fingers.

Colton gives a soft squeeeze back and sheepish look

A bemused shake of her head at Colton, and she murmurs, "You live dangerously."

"Got cocky. " He says then adds, "Can I say Vali is a bad influence?"

Vali overhears THAT too "Sure.. mm I'll get Dagamr on the couch and text Jaymes"

"Thanks, Vali." Sylvi looks grateful out of proportion to what he said.
