"I bet it was Dirk. He's mean and stupid. Bad combo."

"Yeah, I hear stories. there are, I'm told, Smart redcaps, but Dirk ain't one of em"

"He's the only redcap I know."

"Themla is okay, she was on the ship..not sure where she and her baby went"

"A baby redcap? Do they have teeth?"

"Oh pardon, not so much a baby anymore... a nocker. from the father? and..good question about baby redcaps. Holy shit, that would be a quick weaning"

"ow ow ow OW, oh shit, yeah."

"Right?" Shudders a bit "I feel kind of bad now. I haven't kept up with me old crewmates. I wonder what Dodger'ss up to?"

"Well, maybe we can meet them on patrol?"

"Some moved out o the county and i can't visit them" A frown at that

"Oh... like how far?"

"Some went closer to the DeBukes, others.. well, anywhere in Concordia. Who knows. " She sighs "I'm being immature. I just had a grand trip to Maryland. No point in sulking over things now."

"It sucks when you lose people, though."

"It does. but, at least they're well" She says "I hope theyr'e well. You know what it's like though. those few good folk? And you could say good bye to dozens, but those ones? those ones you wonder about.."

"Yeah. I guess. Doesn't do much good, though - once somebody's gone, they're gone."

"Well, you neverk now when paths might cross again."

A faint snort. "Maybe."

"And we have patrols" A grin "Maybe we'll get to make friends among the locals"

"You, maybe. You're nicer than I am."

"Even Olgar has friends" She reminds "And he's not always nice"

"True."

"And if we don't make friends, well, that's a perk, the goal is keeping them safe, and you and fly swatter are good at keeping folk safe. Tove sure knows it."

Footsteps... someone approaching the lodge

Dag cranes her neck, looking.

Brekke's closer to the Lodge than they are.

Clem comes into view

"HEY CLEM."

Brekke turns and straightens from the pumpkin patch she has been tending. She nods a greeting in Clem's direction.

"Hey, Dagmar" A wave, "is the Chi..oh hello, Chief. I was hoping to have a word?"

"Certainly, Clem. Is there a problem?" An alert frown.

She leans, blatantly listening in.

"Well, hopefully not, but I could use your advice on an important choice"

Siv finds something to do, and EVERYONE knows you can't eavesdrop while you work...

"I see." Brekke nods...then notes Dagmar's attention. She clears her throat rather pointedly. "Does this discussion require privacy?"

Clem looks amused at Dagmar and Siv who keeps clearing out the same spot, "At the risk of offending Rivervale the next generation, I think it's only proper as it isn't all about me"

Brekke nods. "Follow me, please." She sets down her gardening implements, and leads Clem to the boathouse.

Dagmar shrugs and goes back to watching Siv clear brush.

"Later, Siv, Dagmar" Clem walks off to follow Brekke heading to the boathouse

Siv waits until theyr'e gone, then looks to Dagmar "Ffft...you'd think the 'next generation' might need to know things"

"Right? Wanna go see if we can hear through the wall?"

"Badly, but .. I'm not going to." siv sighs "I'm trying to be good. "

Siiiigh. "Sucks."

"It DOES , doesn't it?"

"I mean, we're not little girls"

"Exactly. We're wilders."

"I mean, bad enough they don't want us wandering, we an't even be in on news when it comes to us?"

"Right! It ain't fair."

"But sometimes honor means that you endure the unfair now to make justice for tomorrow" Grumble growl

"That doesn't make sense."

"I worry it kind of does"
