And sshe stops from her yard work to wave to Dagmar if she sees her appraoch

"Hey." She heads over, copping a lean against a fence to watch.

Hefting and working to keep the paths around the house clear

Brekke is enjoying some time working in the garden, as well.

Siv grins and stops singing "Found me a new song, well, old song but new to me. How are ye, Dagmar?"

"Doing okay. Tove's doing better."

"Good. " Siv says "She asked me to smuggle her a wooden flute. I told her I didn't need you mad at me"

"Good. She's not allowed until the weekend."

"Clem said." As if that justifies it.

"Well, if Clem said. Whew she's a stickler, Aunti Clem. I have dreams of a time at sea where I got this odd pox... you'd have thought ma and da were going to turn the ship around to find Clem to get her healingme. And I DO remember I weren't allowed nothing solid for a week. By the THIRD day I was hungering so powerful for some solid meat I thought i was going to lean over the railing and bite the next passing fish that jumped too high"

A look at her mother , "Sadly, some folks were on fierce guard"

Dagmar laughs at that. "I bet!"

Noting her mom is working deeper in the garden, Siv leans over on the railing and says "So..." Lower voice, "She and Jaymes.. you kknow, getting along? he's a good man, but he hasn't said anything...dim, has he?"

"Things seem okay? We've watched a lot of movies. And Supergirl."

"That any good? " About supergirl

"Not too bad."

"Sometimes it gets a little soap operaish."

"Ah, the mushy stuff you don't like" A nod "Maybe I would but glad you like some of it. I thought maybe you could help me with something sometimes. Not sure Jaymes will be ok with it, but it's not liek you don't walk abot anyway"

"Oh? Doing what?"

"Patrols. See, Vali normally patrols about the place, checks up on other local fae sees how theyr'e doing. Mum does it too. Anyway, Vali and tiff any are getting their own couple stuff together so I offered to patrol for him a bit. You want to come along if it's okay? It's kind of social but besides that..." She shrugs

"YES. Can I bring Flyswatter?"

"Oh weapons are almost requireed. It's a patrol, meaning if trouble arises we'd want to be ready. Ye can bet I'll have a cutlass"

"Cool! Maybe there will be fights."

"....We shouldn't tell Jaymes that part..."

"Well, we're not supposed to hope for a fight no " she does grin though at Dagmar realizing Jaymes might not be keen on it

"They can't all be Bug Guy. ANd Jaymes said he's a sluagh - I mean, like, Symon is tiny!"

"Well, Vali has fought on patrol, but he says 9 times out of 10 it's no trouble."

"So we tell Jaymes THAT."

"Oh sure," she says "Trust me. When I have to talk to Da, I've learned there's a finesse involved. Excitable twitchy creatures, fathers"

"I guess?" An odd smile.

Siv smiles back "of course, you're not crazy about boys. I wonder if you can use that to your advantage with uncle jaymes ? you know 'it's not like I'm off to see a boy or something' ? "

"Maybe something about Dagda?"

"Maybe" She says "Dagda's code DOES encourage us to protect others. Why,patrols make it a must don't it?"

"Exactly. I HAVE to go. It's my duty."

"The right is on your side" total agreement

"When do we go?"

"Well, I start this weekend, when Tove should be okay right?"

"Yeah, totally. "

"Good. You can't just have reasons to go, you need to be ready for folks to try to find reasons for ye not to go. Grumps are like that."

"No fun. So - not just around the woods, but in town?"

"right, part of it is letting other changelings know that Chieftain Brekke and the Rivervale trolls are on the job" Pride, LOTS of pride "They are safe, for we are here"

"Seems sort of like old-school superheroing. Like... a little cheesy?"

"Little bit, but think of it as also a good will campaign. Folks want to know that their leaders aren't just sitting on their butts. Also, sometimes they DO need something. why Sylvi once saved a satyr kinian's doll from a redcap"
